D J Franzen Trucking Complaints - Stealing


This trucking company wants to lease out 80-100, 000 387 petes. This is fine except for one small problem. They haul one money load out of Iowa and let drivers sit at the other end because they have no customers except in Iowa. They rely on brokers for back hauls and sometimes even suggest coming back empty to pick up another money load.

This is all fine if your running about 200 miles empty. There are drivers going 6-1200 miles empty and that in turn cuts into that money load leaving Iowa. They tell the drivers to look at it as a ROUND TRIP. Which means now the so called money load is not all that great anymore and you burn up fuel to get back..

Also the loads they offer as back hauls are terrible. Were talking a load that goes 800 miles and pays 1000 gross, then Franzen takes there cut of 30% which leaves you 700. This is b4 you have to buy fuel to.. Sometimes you end up paying more than your profit on fuel and end up in the negative to haul a load back to the MONEY LOAD. Think about though, Franzen makes their 30% no matter what!!! Then the fuel surcharge, they take 30% of that as well.. Several drivers have looked for their own back hauls and still were forced to give up 30% even though there own dispatch didnt find them a back haul... This company runs these expensive trucks with no hauls to cover these payments.. Be aware and ask lots of questions before going to this company for a lease truck...

They even had the nerve to put out a survey for us so called owner ops.. They wanted us to grade each office staff. Well one of them i know got several bad marks just from talking with drivers.. The new dispatch cant find us broker freight let alone their own customers. (what a concept that is) OWN CUSTOMERS FOR BACK HAULS!!! lol. Nothing after the survey has changed and their focus is selling these trucks. BEWARE OF THE SCAM. you will go under unless you know the owners personally...

If this company tells you they have no freight for a day or two while in Iowa they will refuse you a load that pays good from a broker even if you ask them for persmission to haul it. . So if you want to stay moving while in Iowa they will let you sit rather than make a profit for you and the company...
