I recently paid $345 for a new water heater from Home Depot which included $319 installation fee. As if that wasn't enough, when the delivery man came to install it he charged me an EXTRA $193 to "bring it up to code", ( to replace a saddle valve ) so the total price of the water heater is now $893! What a scam. THe alterations needed were VERY minor.

While the agreement says additional charges might occur to bring things up to code it is still MUCH cheaper to have a local plumber install it. However Home Depot and its sales people make big bucks fleecing customers by having these scam installations where you get nickeled and dimed for using their services.

My advice NEVER use a DRF Total Home Solutionsas an installer. You will be charged MUCH MUCH more than is reasonable.
