When I was buying a shearling coat in that store I asked the cashier if I will be able to return it in case it doesn't fit me. The cashier assured me that within 14 days I could return it and even suggested to put the receipt in a safe place since it's an expensive item.

When I came home I tried it on and saw that it doesn't fit me well. I went to the store to return it but the Store Manager told me this coat was on final sale and it's not returnable. I explained her that before paying I asked the cashier if I will be able to return it and cashier assured me that I could. Also, on the receipt it states REGULAR SALE so I was completely unaware of the Final Sale. Store Manager pointed out on the tag attached to the coat where in small letter it says "Final Sale" but I didn't notice it at the time of purchase. She also told me that she asked the cashier and cashier told her that she told me about this coat being on Final Sale and other cashiers heard it too. Store Manager told me and I quote: "This is your word against hers".

My husband wrote a letter to Daffy's explaining what happened at their 18th street store. The response came from Hank Shemmer VP of Stores at Daffy's saying that they have a different version of what occurred. When I read his response I could not believe my eyes. I was in shock. They made up the whole story how the cashier told me about final sale because she saw how hesitant I was about buying the coat but I still decided to go ahead with the purchase. Basically they called me a liar. I was with my co-worker who witnessed everything. She was standing right next to me and she heard me asking the cashier about the return policy and the cashier is assuring me about 14 days return policy and not mentioning even a word about this item being on Final Sale.

The store is not being truthful. I call it a FRAUD. I cannot wear the coat that doesn't fit me. If the cashier didn't assure me that I will be able to return it I would never buy this coat because I needed to make sure it fits me well.
