My wife received her vehicle on Friday, the initial problem seems to be rectified, but with the quality of service I have received from the Alberton branch, I cannot say for certain.
However, there is now a grinding noise in the front and the brakes makes a mysterious “clack” sound when braking. After the 45000 km service, the battery has run dead 3 times, even on Friday when she received the vehicle and drove not even 3 km’s to a shopping centre, the car almost failed to start.
I spoke to Morne on Tuesday morning when my wife took in her vehicle and mentioned to him to check the brakes (as they replaced the brake pads on the 45000 km service) as well as the battery running flat and to confirm if the battery is charging. It seems that they did not even bother to check one of the problems.
My experience in the “New South Africa” is the you must first beg and after being ignored enough, take extreme measure, before you get service anywhere. My pleas has gone unnoticed. If Daihatsu are willing to finally fix the problems, please reply, but I don’t want Alberton branch to work on the vehicle anymore, as their service is pathetic to say the least. It feels to me that because it is a lady owning the vehicle, they do not seem to care.
