I have attempted in multiple ways to cancel an account with
www.dailyceleb.com. Since they use the credit card processing company
2Checkout.com I have to cancel this account with them. However, their
cancellation process does not work, they have not responded to emails,
and over phone conversations they say, "We don't get complaints about
our cancellation process and therefore do not believe you."
In a phone conversation with a customer service rep, I asked to speak
with a superior, the woman put me on hold for 20 minutes before I
received a message saying "Unfortunately your call has exceeded the
maximum hold time, try again later." and it then disconnects. I called
again, and again asked to speak to a superior, the same thing occurred.
When I complete the cancellation process there is a note saying, if the
account is not canceled within 24 hours, please submit an online support
ticket. When I click the link to place a support ticket it takes me to a
page that doesn't exist.
I'm not sure, but I do have a feeling it is illegal to allow a consumer
to subscribe to a service that they cannot cancel. In my opinion that's
like selling my soul to the devil.
I have contacted my credit card company to dispute these charges.
After plugging "2checkout.com complaint" into google, I came up with
multiple pages of complaints from both consumers and businesses. They
have 422 complaints against them with the BBC alone. BEWARE!
