Bad work
I hired Dale Upcraft to do some work on a mobile home I inherited from my late aunt. He came recommended to me. The work I wanted done was to clean the walls and ceilings, paint the interior, remove and replace the carpet. He started in Sep. 2009. He kept finding more things to fix like water damage. Because I believed him I told him to fix everything. Of course his price went up. He then tells me the mobile home needs to be leveled and having been there myself, I could see he was right. So he leveled it. My aunt had a bathroom removed for more storage. I told him to put bathroom fixtures in and the price went up. I am not complaining about the price just his lack of expediecy. In Jan. 2010, I flew to the area to see for myself. He was not communicating at all with me after numerous emails and phonecalls he wouldn't take. The place was a mess. It looked like he was using my mobile home for tool storage. He told me 2 months earlier that the only thing left to do was install the carpet. I told him to mail the keys back to me immediately. I had to hire someone else to finish the work including the leveling he incorrectly did. I threatened to take him to court to pay for the new leveling and then lo and behold he emails me that he is loing an eye becasue of the black mold in the place. I cannot find any information about losing an eye do to black mold. He knew the mold is a health hazard, so why didn't he take precautions. I decided not to pursue the matter. I filed a complints with the Attorney General's office in Calif. If you live in the Los Angeles area and need work on your mobile home DO NOT hire Dale Upcraft.
