Dane-Elec customer service or really lack of it. I purchased a Dane-Elec
8gb flash drive and the drive failed. I tried contacting by both e-mail and toll free number. E-mails were not returned for over 3 weeks. The toll free number went directly to voice mail. The toll free number is now working.
I finally got a RMA from Dane-Elec last week almost a month after I had contacted them at least 8 times with no returns. How did I finally get a return e-mail? I went to their company website and e-mailed every location they have.
The site I bought the product from Buy.com waived their normal 14 day return policy and exchanged the item.
The flash drive worked well and I like the design but with horrible customer service I cannot reccomend Dane-Elec. Buy.com on the other hand stepped up and did the right thing in this situation.
If you are looking to buy a flash drive, shop for Kingston. They have a great product and when I got a defective product it was replace quickly and with great customer service.
