THEY STEAL AND LIE ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS
Data Depot sold us a package of Email "leads". These were all outdated emails that were deleted over 4 years ago and absolute junk. Data Depot didnt provide even close to what they claim to offer online. I called Data Depot online and there is no tech support. I emailed Data Depot, no reply. Finally I got through to Data Depot's new business rep to explain my situation. The guy was out right rude, condescending and laughed at me when I asked for a refund. This is a perfect example of why you need to research reviews about companies before you use them. I found hundreds of complaints about data depot, they are garbage and I wouldnt mind if someone paid them a visit! He bragged that they were so big they didn't care if there were so many complaints about their company... it thats the &*!# this loser believes then he's in for a rude awakening when someone REALLY calls him out on his scams!

JUNK E-mail List and customer service
They took 2 weeks to send me the e-mail list I specifically asked for. When I rec'd it, it was NOT what I ordered. I plan events for metro detroit, and an e-mail list with all of the United States on it...will NOT do me any good. I sent compliant e-mails---no response. I called backed and requested new list-NOTHING yet. After I was hung up on...Nothing. Luckily I only wasted $89 for my list...DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. IT IS A SCAM!!!
There are only two people that answer the phone...they are both RUDE!!!

Beware of Data Depot
First RED flag: After you sign up they want you to send them copy of your drivers license and credit card to complete transaction. Second flag: Calls are only answered on sales line (101) the other two line (102(for tech support & 103(accounting)) you must communicate by email. Third flag: the promises on the website is totally different from what you are told once you pay your money. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. Unfortunately I paid them$584 and all I received is an email list that is supposed to be current and updated monthly. I attempted to send it out the very next day with the service they sold me, their bulk email system and I'm still waiting for it to go out. Who knows how many of the emails are even valid. From other consumer complaints about this company, the list is outdated. BEWARE OF DATA DEPOT.

Company is a fraud
WARNING!!! Data Depot is a sham. We attempted to contract with them to provide support for our email campaigns. Thank god we just performed a trial run for $30.00. Scott Bell will answer the phone and say he is in sales. He claims there is other departments but they just go into bogus voice mails when you call. I strongly believe he is one guy working out of an apartment somewhere. When I ask information like who is the President, VP or any other person he tells me that it private information and he is not allowed to give it out then hangs up on me. I would be very careful if you use this company for anything. It is a scam - period!!! I would guess to say that Scott Bell is probably not even his real name. A female will answer sometimes but I suspect that is a girlfriend or wife.

Beware
The vendor requires full payment in advance and requires the prospective customer to sign a lengthy and very strict contract, providing no recourse for failure to deliver. Then, the vendor will make verbal promises to suit customer needs, fail to deliver and then provide little or no remedy.
I spoke on the phone a number of times with the vendor beginning 14 September 2009 regarding my request for the vendor to perform a mass emailing of my text to 44.2 million email address from their database, with a strict deadline for completion on 27 September 2009. They stated that this could be done - actually within 24-48 hours of the start of emailing. Emailing did start on 18 September 2009 and by the end of 27 September 2009, the deadline, only 16.9 million of the 44.2 million emails had been sent.
The vendor charged me, in advance, $4550 for this service. However, they delivered only 38% of the required emails. I have disputed the $4550 charge through my credit card bank and, after many months of discussion, the vendor has agreed that they failed to deliver as promised and has agreed to accept that the charge be reduced 22% from $4550 to $3570.

Didn't get what I paid for
I paid for some leads and received a whole lot of duplicates and a lot of the emails were similar to [email protected] and [email protected]. I also bought their software to send out the emails which didn't work. Also they have no customer support; just a recording that sends you to a FAQ page that doesn't help at all. I heard that Mark Cuban owns the company but that is unconfirmed.

fraudulant list broker
Our company purchased a list from this company called Data Depot in St Petersberg Florida. They look professional but they are far from that. Their site advertises that the leads are new and only a month old at the worst; well, they not only are old, but most of the phone numbers didn't exist or were fax numbers or disconnected...etc
I will be challenging them with my credit card company as well as we picked up a domain that will help others in the future not buy from this company.
Data depot is nothing more than a bunch of fraudsters and scam artists selling bad lists of every proportion. Their cheap prices lure you in. The service and the list sucks so data depot sucks, are not legit, they provide false advertising, is a scam, participate knowingly in fraud, and are a complete rip off.
Don't get caught up in their scam and save your money and buy from legitimate list brokers..

Fraud and false advertising
Several months ago, I purchased a mailing list from Data Depot - big mistake as it turned out - they just took my money and never provided the promised information.
Their website listed the data elements they promised and it appeared to be just what I needed. Once I received the mailing list, I found that they had not included the City - certainly an important element in a mailing list don't you think? I contacted them several times before finally receiving a response that there must be something wrong with my computer. Absurd - it was a data file downloaded from an FTP site. Didn't require any programs to run or anything. I contacted them several more times and they simply refused to respond and they refused to provide a refund.
I then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau - what a waste of time. I've come to the conclusion after this and a previous encounter with the BBB that it is not worth the effort and time. Data Depot responded that they don't guarantee the accuracy of the data and I agreed to that when I purchased the mailing list. True, I do understand that they cannot possibly guarantee the accuracy of the data as addresses change fequently in some cases; however, I did not agree to purchase a mailing list totally missing a promissed data element (city).
I then filed a complaint with the State of Florida Division of Consumer Affairs. Data Depot simply refused to respond to them and they closed the file with no action.
