Charged for full Lease
I recently went to Florida, from NY to attend MMI school. When we were down here at the end of August trying to find a place to stay, we were told the room would be about $18 per night, it was not.I could not find an apartment so I got a room at the Days Inn. After only five days I met up with someone from my hometown, who needed a room mate. I told Days Inn I would pay the regular price per night to get out of the lease and they said no. I feel this is very un fair an as I am not able to find a job yet, I am piching EVERY penny. I did not feel very safe where they put the college student way in the back where it it now lit very well. Please consider refunding some of the money.

dirty motel
I stayed one night, September 16, 2008 at the Days Inn located at 11120 NW Ambassador Drive, KC, MO 64153.

I found the motel to be rather dirty and definitely not in tip-top shape. The stair railing on the way to the second floor (elevator was out of commission) was scaley, as evidenced by the two different colors I could see. In our room, the bathroom floor had broken, unsightlyl tile around the bathtub, cobwebs (I guess) in the corners in the bathroom, a nasty stain on one pillowcase, and some kind of black grunge clinging to a bath towel.

There may well be other things. I did not TRY to find things wrong. The things I mentioned just popped out at me.

I have stayed in Days Inns before, but I will surely think twice before I do again.

PRICE FIXING-CHANGING RATES AFTER BOOKIN
I booked 12 rooms at this hotel with the manager Dennis Henderson. I booked them Aug 4 2008 with a price for the park and fly and taxes for a rate of $97.44 per room. The price was for 7 days plus the 5 days additional to keep the car and the taxes. We mailed a check for $1169.68 on Aug 22 for the 12 rooms. In the mean time we added another room and gave him a company credit card for that room. I get a call from the lady tonight (Sept 23) who is taking this group on a 12 day cruise and the person in charge( a Jennifer) they had to pay for the rooms. I told her a check was mailed in Aug for the amount that was agreed on. She says I was rude well she has no business behind the desk. She called Dennis and of course he has no idea what is going on. I came to the office to check the confirmation numbers and the check date. We called my lady and that is when she informed me he is going to renege on the price and charge every one the $5 extra per day. I can not believe they can do this but guess they can. When I called corporate they told me they could do this. I can only think of one reason that anyone would stay here is for the convenience...sure not the service or the quality.
We do a lot of business in Nashville TN with hotels and none of them have the LOGO DAYS INN.

clogged toilet and a lot more
We stayed at this location before and was awakened by the housekeepers asking when we were leaving. They did this 3 times until we left. Check out was 11:00am and they started knocking at 8:00 am. When I called customer service they said they spoke with manager "Tom" and he reassured them it would not happen again. They said they couldn't offer us a discount because they were not owned by the same people. So we booked there because it's right beside the place we had to go. As soon as we arrived we checked in to find out that there is an eleven dollar parking fee that they didn't have before and didn't tell us about this time. I could see if the hotel was fancy or had a parking garage, but this is your average everyday hotel. We didn't arrive until almost midnight, so we all went staight to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Of course the toilet wouln't flush. Thank goodness I just had to pee. We had two 3 year olds with us who had to pee in a clogged toilet which over flowed. By the time someone came we were already gone for the day. We only used the room to shower and sleep. So, when we finally came back that night my husband said, "let me check the toilet!" Once again overflow. The on duty person at the time said we just didn't know how to use the bathroom. Well, I can assure you I've been going on my own for well over 30 years. I think I have it down by now. The man who unclogged the toilet this time didn't even bother to put the plunger in a bag or anything once he was finished. He just carried it through the room while it was dripping across the carpet. Needless to say we all wore shoes the entire time. They refused to change our room. They acted like we should be lucky to stay there. The room clogged 2 more times in our 3 day stay, so we had a great vacation. We will never stay here again.

Terrible Customer Service
I reserved 2 rooms at a Days Inn in Lawrenceville GA for 8/13-16/08 to attend a funeral. I was not notified of ongoing construction when I made the reservation. Gas station in front of the motel was cleaner and in better condition than the motel. We arrived after midnight and were awakened at 7 AM by a power screwdriver being used right outside our rooms. My brother went to the office to complain. The lady sitting behind the desk was picking her nose when he walked in. She told him the there would be no construction the next day. We were again awakened at 7 AM with a hammer. The condition inside the rooms was not acceptable, the mattress and box spring should be condemned. The fire/smoke alarm was hanging out of the wall by the wire in one room. The last night of our stay, we did not sleep at all due to a prostitution bust that occurred. On 8/18, I contacted Days Inn Customer Care. I was told the complaint would be forwarded to the manager of and I would be contacted within 7 business days. It was 2 wks before I received a message from AJ offering me 25% off my next stay. It took another 2 wks for me to contact him directly to let him know that we will not be traveling to that area in the future. Once I was connected to a line that just kept ringing and I was disconnected. I called back & she said, "Oh he's out of town until next week". I asked why she didn't tell me that when I called and she hung up on me. I called again on 9/9 & spoke with AJ. I requested a 50% refund. He said he would have to speak to the manager above him for approval and would call me back, 9/12. I did not hear from him and called on 9/15. He said he was going to see the manager 9/16 and I was "first on his list" and that he would call me that day. I did not hear from him. I called 9/17 and was told the manager did not approve the 50% refund. I told him I would be reporting a complaint to the BBB and he told me to "go ahead". The condition of the hotel is not as advertised on the internet and should be inspected by the authorities for code compliance.

Reservation
Made reservation for visiting family. Reservation could not be cancelled because in the corner of the reservation form a very small box needed to be checked that I needed to mark in case I wanted to cancell. Well an emergency arose I needed to cancel. No luck. Days Inn must get a lot of these complaints because they are very good at transfering you around and leaving you on hold for extended periods of time. I travel extensivly for business and will never use this chain agian.

Terrible service
We booked a stay at this hotel and had an awful experience, first their elevator permits were outdated with metal protruding from one of the walls, the front desk clerk barely spoke english and could not open our phone lines, the sheets were stained the curtains were falling down, my husband was solicited at the pool by a gentlemen who had two women with him, we immediately went back to our room to find that our door had not shut all the way (as all hotels doors should do you hear it shut behind you) and there was a man standing in our room, of course the desk clerk could not get what we were talking about so we left and returned in the morning as I wanted to speak with someone who I thought would be able to help, the front desk clerk said the manager was not in and that I would have to call later, while I was trying to resolve this another unsatisfied customer came and and was told the manager had resigned that morning... when I called Customer Care I was told someone would be in contact, yea they wrote me two "brush off letters" of apology saying the location was a franchise and the manager and general manager would be in contact and if I did not hear from them to contact them at: No name and No number, yes the letter had no names and numbers so if they do not know who to contact how am I suppose to, we could have been killed that night what if we had lain down to sleep not realizing the door did not engage and the man had come in then... I often travel alone and will never ever stay at Days Inns, this facility use to be a Quality Inn and we could see why they no longer lend their name to this location IT WAS A DUMP and no one cares that our SAFETY had been in jeapordy I really think this was a spot where people live and unsavory ones at that, to this day I have heard from NOONE at the location... I would recommend that anyone traveling go a few extra miles if necessary and find a hotel chain that will actually care and not give their customer the brush off... so much for DAYS INN new Sunny look, there was nothing sunny about it...

Terrible experience
We made a reservation at the Days Inn on Anrew Johnson Hwy and discovered it was the wrong one. So we now have a reservation at the Days Inn at White Pine. (Both in Morristown, TN.) for Saturday September 6, 2008. When I tried to cancel the one on Andrew Johnson Hwy. (after talking to 3 people) I only got the run around - Bottom line - they refused to cancel and we are expected to pay even though we changed locations with the same chain (being Days Inn). I can tell you that not only will we not stay at a Days Inn again but will tell everyone that will listen to us not to stay there and WE DO TRAVEL A LOT and have stayed at Days Inn on MANY occasions. So sorry for this terrible situation.

Sincerely,
Pat Peoples.

Robbery
I came to my room (Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008) after getting off work at 4:30 pm. When I entered my room I noticed my luggage had been opened and repacked. I looked in my secret compartment of my luggage and discovered someone had stolen my $700.00 golden diamond bracelet, my $200.00 sterling silver chain and sixty dollars ($60.00) in cash out of my suitcase. I had cash in my check book and $thirty dollars ($30.00) was missiong.

I went to the fron desk. The clerk (Eric) and the lady manager told me they could determine who had been in my room within a minutes. The manager refused to tell me who had been in my room or how many times it had been entered.

The maintenance man, who was on shift, told the clerk (Eric), I had probably lost my stuff and was simply attempting to blame the hotel for my lost valuables.

Management called for the police. It took two calls to get them there, plus two hours for the police to show. Once the Tampa Police arrived, I was made to feel like I was the criminal. I was told by the officer to shut up and set down. Management continued to refuse me any information about my stolen goods.

I must admit, I got upset with the law and with the disrespect from Days Inn Management. So, I ended up leaving without resolving this. I returned to my hometown (Pensacola, FL). I shared my story with my parents and was encouraged not to let this die without letting someone above Days Inn Management know how customers are treated.

The clerk (Eric) informed me that robbery was not uncommon at Days Inn.

I feel, I should be compensated for my stolen property. I promise you from this day forward I will not use Days Inn. I will go out of my way to tell this story to the many employees of DC Taylor, not to mention my many friends. Should by chance Days Inn do the right thing and compensate me, I will feel somewhat vindicated. No one should experience what I experienced or be treated/disrespected as I was by Days Inn Management and the Tampa Police.

My cell phone number is 770-833-8836.
