I received an unauthorized charge on my credit card of 19.95
I received an unauthorized charge on my credit card of 19.95. After a long dispute and research by my credit card company, apparently when I ordered books in June, I agreed to the monthly charge.
Since my eyes are fairly bad and i don’t read much, I would never select this option had i seen it. Either way, after 4 months of $19.95 charges, I am at least finally out of the monthly charge.

Unauthorized charges deducted in my bank account for membership fees
I ordered books for under $15.00 and then they start charging me at 0.10 cent charge then they started charging me a $12.00 membership fee also. I never agreed to the membership.
I had to go to my bank and get a new debit card so they couldn’t keep taking money out of my account without my permission. When I called DBS they wouldn’t give me a refund.
They said they would cancel the membership but, after reading everyone else’s comments I didn’t think they would stop so that is why I asked for a new debit card. No one should buy from DBS Books.Guess I need to stick to Amazon. What a mess for a few books.

DBS books has charged my account 2 times @9.95. I will call my bank on Mon. to let them know.

Scam
I purchased a $4.24 book on 9/8/09. On 9/8/09, 10/7/09, 11/9/09, and 12/28/09 I was billed $19.95.
When I called the company, they told me this fee was for a membership that I was never advised of or given an opportunity to decline. They refused to refund the money. This is a huge scam.

Undisclosed and unauthorized membership charges
Just look at the hoard of complaints against this company...they speak for themselves.
I ordered a book on line and my credit card was charged for the book as well as separate charge of $9.95 - I called to query and was told this was a membership charge (to what?) - my records show nothing that suggests any further charges.
Please don't use this company and if you do use them do not pay for these fraudlent charges.

Unknowingly got signed up for book club membership
I ordered a book for 15.01 on 8-17, got the book alright but when my credit card statement came, there was another charge for 19.95 from DBS books. When I called to find out what this was, they said I had agreed to a book club membership when checking out buying the book I got. I did not see anything like that because if I did I would not have bought the book. They did say they would cancel my membership and refund my 19.95. When I got my next credit card statement, there was a credit and a charge on there for 19.95. When I called again, they said they could only do one refund and when they did cancel my membership, it was after the 30 day free membership period. If this membership was so free the first 30 days, why did they put a charge on my credit card only 4 days after I had boughten the book? She could not answer that question for me and said she would have to refer me to the refund committee and they would get back to me in 4-5 days with their decision. Sounds like a big scam to me, especially if this company has to have a refund committee.

fradulant charge!
When I ordered a book from DBS Books I immediately canceled it a half hour later. then they told me that I COULD cancel the recuring montly "membership fee" and still get the book that I had ordered. I accepted this answer, BUT just found a $1.00 charge on my bank account. For what I don't know, but I will phone. I have phoned thenm three times, each time requesting the cancellation number printed on an email and have never received any emails from them.
This company is fradulant and should be stopped!

Internet fraud
This company has been charging my credit card at $19.95 a month for several months. I never authorized them to do so. I called my CC company and they told me it is for a membership to a book club. I never joined a book club and I never received any books from DBS Books. Everybody who has been victimized by this company needs to lodge a complaint on the Federal Trade Commission website. If the FTC receives enough complaints they will go to Florida and put these fools out of business. <br />

If anybody has a name or adress for DBS Books I would appreciate it. Maybe a class action lawsuit will get these fools attention. I am pissed and they are going down!
