I ordered books for under $15.00 and then they start charging me a .10 cent cahrge then they started charging me a $12.00 membership fee also...I never agreed to the membership...
I had to go to my bank and get a new debit card so they couldn't keep taking money out of my account without my permission. When I called DBS they wouldn't give me a refund. They said they would cancel the membership but, after reading everyone else's comments I didn't think they would stop so that is why I asked for a new debit card. No one should buy from DBS Books...guess I need to stick to Amazon...what a mess for a few books.

On 9/22/09 i purchased a book by Dr. Amen from this site for $ 9.37. My debit card was charged and then 3 dayas later my card was charged again for $9.95 and today I see there's a pre-authorization charge again from this company !! I discovered this complaint site while googl-ing DBS books to go to their website again to complain to them .I will call my bank in the morning to put in a compliant and have the charges removed. Who are these people ????

I ordered a book ($16.93), and when my American Express bill came in there was that charge, plus a charge for $14.95 as a membership fee charge. This was unauthorized ... never ever agreed to nor was it ever mentioned . . . When I called the company, they did not want to refund the money, but they finally said they would but that it would take a couple of billing cycles. I then called American Express who told me not to pay the bill. I told them that I read that DBS would recharge the credit card for membership fees at a later date. American Express set it up where they won't be able to do that. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. They will rip you off big time!!

I ordered a book from DBS Books for a total cost of $7.33. After reviewing my bank account on-line, I discovered a $19.95 charge to my account right away and another one month after. I immediately called the 800 number listed and found that the charge was for a "membership fee". I requested a refund since I didn't sign-up for membership and was told that an email was sent with 3 days to respond and that since I had not responded within that time frame the membership fee could not be refunded. Did not see email asked for total refund, was told they could do one refund and it would take 30 days.
I am furious about this fraudulent, involuntary charge and the response I got was sorry "click" from the telephone representative. After some research on the internet, I found complaints against this company just for the month of August 2009 (today is 9/17/09). This company is STEALING money by way of unauthorized, bogus membership fees. I have forwarded my dispute to my bank to get a refund and will send a complaint to the PO Box in Boca Raton in addition to complaining here and on other "RIP-OFF" websites.

I ordered a book for my child totaling $9.90 and found a second charge on my credit card statement for $19.95. When I called to inquire, I was told this was a "membership fee." I stated that I never requested or authorized a "membership fee" and demanded to have it removed from my credit card. They refused saying the book was on its way and therefore no changes could be made to my account. I told them to immediately cancel the membership and I would be returning the book shortly. More than a month after that phonecall, I still have not received the book. Now I can't even find the website to contact them again. They effectively stole $30.00 from me and I got nothing.
