I did my application online for food stamps and cash assistance (in FL) and waited the 30 days that your supposed to to hear something. Well about a week before the 30 days were up I called for 3 days straight and waited on the phone for over 30 minutes each time, for them to tell me that the 30 days were not up yet and that I just had to wait. Also I asked them EVERY time I called if I needed to send in more information because I thought that might be the reason why it was taking so long and every time they told me no, that they had everything that they needed. Well I got a letter yesterday saying that I was denied for food stamps for ME NOT SENDING IN ALL THE INFORMATION THEY NEEDED!! I called up there again today and waited for 45 minutes this time only for them to inform me that they didn't have all of my husband's paystubs. Well after arguing with the lady for a few minutes I just gave up because I knew it was a never ending battle, but after I got off the phone, I realized that on the same letter that they denied the food stamps for "not having the paystubs" they denied me for cash assistance for our income being too high. Now tell me how in the world they knew that our income was too high if they didn't have our paystubs???? I don't know but I'm going to call back again next week and see if I can get this resolved, and if anyone out there knows of another website or phone number that I can call to get something done about this, it would be greatly apprectiated.
