De Huurdesk in The Netherlands, directed by Erik Tulleners and Michiel Bakker.
Looking for a room in Amsterdam. I was contacted by netwerkmakelaardij.nl concerning a room, we had a viewing and I agreed to take the room. The builing was in renovation, so I could only take the room one month later. Netwerkmakelaardij charged me €1050 of commission.
As soon as I gave them the money they only gave me the phone number of Dehuurdesk.
I phoned them and arranged an appointment.
I gave them €700 of deposit plus one month rent.
When they gave me the room, I had the surprise to see that it wasn't the room I'd choose. Indeed it was a much smaller room that used to be a bathroom (with still bathroom tiles). As they didn't wanted to hear anything, I've just obtain from them to repaint the room.
When I wanted to leave after 5 months, they told me I have to pay the 6th month and so did I.
I've moved sooner but as I was still paying the rent, I've left it furnished (I've got the room unfurnished). When I went by one day before the end of my lease, I had the surprise to see that my room was use by another person with my belongings inside. I've never been able to obtain my belongings back, neither the one month rent that I did pay whilst the other person was using my room.
The worse was that they never gave me back my €700 back as De Huurdesk were closing their business. I try to contact the owner and his agency (H&R Holding bv) but didn't wanted to hear anything from me. I've contacted Michiel Bakker every week, I've heard a lot of promises but never get my money back.
I advise you to never have any business with Michiel Bakker (De Huurdesk), nor H&R Holding bv.
In this story, I've lost more than 1000 euros.
