Money lost
I have been with this company for over a year paying them $313.00 every month. They actually settled one of my accounts, and had enough money to settle another one. Over $2500.00 was in my set aside fund. The last payment to them was May 15.I noticed that the June payment did not come out of my account, so I called only to find out they have filed for bankruptcy. The message said I might get some or all of my money back, but how can I be sure? I am a senior citizen and not even employed at this time. To loose this kind of money is heart breaking. My intention was to settle my debt to the credit card companies.Who helps people like me?

Unauthorized billing
I was told by the people at Debt Relief that they could help consolidate my debt and lower payments. I later found out that two of the debts, which were not credit cards, they can't help with because of the type of account it was. This was after they had told me several times that they (D.R.) could work with the companies. When I ask for something in writing, they told me that they could not work with this accounts. I have been calling them bi-weekly to see where my account stands, along with the a credit card company. Neither of us were able to get any information from them or have a call returned. I paid they @ $2, 000. I would like to think that I will be able to get this money back. I have also filed a report with the Attorney Generals office in Texas.

Scam
Debt Relief USA is a certified Rip Off. I have been in thier program for 2 1/2 years and paid them over $10, 000.00. With this money they have paid off 2 of my accounts which total to about $2, 200.00. Even after the astronomical fees they continually charge, I shoud have about $4, 000.00 in my account with them. One of my creditors has summons me to court and I instructed Debt Relif USA to pay it off in March. Here it is June and only a couple of weeks away from court date and Debt Relief USA will not answer the phone nor will they return my phone calls. I have left message after message and nobody calls me back. Now they have my money, I will have to go to court or try to get my creditor to work with me on this account with some kind of payment plan. HARD LESSON LEARNED. STAY AWAY FROM DEBT RELIEF USA.

I signed a contract with Debt Relief USA to resolve my $30, 000 + credit card debt over a four year period at $400.00 a month. I made payments for 14 months in addition to a $39.00 monthly processing fee that I was not aware of, accruing almost $4, 000.

I lost my $60, 000 a year job and could no longer continue the payments to Debt Relief USA. After repeated phone calls to stop my automatic payment withdraws and to get a refund of my money, they reluctantly refunded $745.00 and kept over $3100.00 claiming it as their 10% fee for doing business with me. They also told me I could restart the program within 6 months.
They probably did nothing wrong because I signed a contract with them but I was not aware that I was paying their 10% commission upfront. I basically paid them to do absolutely nothing for me except to collect my money. I never in my entire have felt so ripped-off and scammed.
The morel of the story is: Do not use these debt relief agencies without consulting a lawyer. I could have filed a chapter 13 for a $1000 and resolved my debt for pennies on the dollar. My input is to make you aware of the many other options available to you to resolve your debt. Seek a Debt Relief Agency affiliated with the government.

I heared the Ad on KNBR 680 AM out of San Fransisco. I called the number and they sounded genuine and like they would help me. I gave my bank info and got the contract in the mail. I read it and it sounded legitimate so I signed it. After a few months of paying I received collection notices, I called the number and no one answered. I left a message and they called me back and told me to send them the notices. Every time I call them, no matter what time of day or night, I always have to leave a message and sit by the phone and wait because if I miss the call they DO NOT call back. I get a statement every month and every one shows that I have a $0 balance. I was told in the contract that I signed that I would pay $160 that includes a $29.95 a month processing fee and the rest goes into an account to build and pay my debts with. Where is my money? I've left them messages and tried to find them online. All I found was a website to sign up and nowhere to log-in and manage my account. I feel that I am getting scammed. I read the other individuals' testimony and the resolution of his problem with Debt Relief USA and would like to resolve my own.
