Scam
AVOID DECODE CAR HIRE - They are not paying for the cars, therefore the car hire companies are refusing to deal with them. It's very unlikely there will be a car for you at the airport.

Fraud --> Do Not Use DECODE!
I rented a van through Decode Car Hire in September 2010. They charged the full price of the van to my credit card and then gave me the details of the local Czech company I would pick the van up from. Everything was in order until I went to pick the van up and the local company informed me that I had to pay them in full and Decode shouldn't have charged me anything. So I paid the local company and worked with them to try and contact Decode.
I submitted several complaints on their website, emailed their support address multiple times, mailed them a letter and tried calling their phone number at least 30 times throughout the week (I'm convinced they don't have anyone answering the phones because no matter what time of the day I called their representatives were "busy' and I had to call back). The local car company also emailed and attempted to call them.
After two weeks I still had no reply from Decode so I decided to contact my bank. After a couple weeks of working with my bank I was refunded the money on my credit card and the bank canceled my card due to "fraudulent activity". Thank goodness my bank was able to get my money back... Decode never even contacted me! This is definitely a scam, whatever you do DO NOT USE DECODE.

Fraud
Just like everybody else. Car hire in Turkey prepaid, took 'voucher' to airport, hire company had booking down as 'Payment On Arrival' and expected to be paid all over again in cash there and then. Didn't know who was lying at that time so took taxis instead. Credit card charge for Decode comes from Riga, Latvia so I guess its a giant organized scam. What I can't understand is why the credit card companies are going along with it?

Scam
Avoid Decode or their partners in crime. They get your money and dump you without any way of contacting them . i.e.bogus international phone #. Do not answer e-mail. Have contacted appropriate authorities here in OZ.

Car Hire Nice airport
As usually I was checking out the web for the lowest car hire prices when I found the Decode site. The prices that they offer were lowest and I decided to book with them.
First off all, after I made my payment it turns out that Decode Car Hire is a BROKERAGE company. The voucher stated that my car hire supplier is “FranceCars” – company I have never heard off!
The problems started when I got to the Nice airport arrivals hall. I just couldn't find the company that was on the rental voucher. I was wondering around the airport for about half an hour when I decided to call the number that was on the voucher. Operator told me that he will conatct the company and solve this problem. After about 5 minutes my phone rang and a person from the rental company explained how to get to their office and after about 15 minutes I was already in my car. So my advice is - check your pick up location details before you go. If it’s somewhere outside an airport get GPS coordinates and navigation guidelines.

Extra Charges
Hello, I also booked a car hire from decodecarhire.co.uk for Murcia Airport in Spain and had a similar experience to John52. My reservation was said to be all inclusive and I expected so. After i made the reservation, decode contacted me and said that my pick up time i requested was not during the normal business hours of the car hire supplier. Then they offered me to either pick up the car at the same time and pay an additional 10 euros or change my pick up time so i would not have to pay the extra charge. I went ahead and paid the extra money and the rest of my experience with decode was really good actually. Upon further research, i even found a part in their FAQ page where it says something about paying an extra fee for an off hours pick up.
In conclusion, I do not have a problem with the way decode handled my situation and actually i was impressed they responded to me so quickly because i have used other companies that would never have told me about this additional charge. I will most likely use decode again in the future.

not delivering payed service
Find Decode Car Hire on the internet. They offered the best rate for a 2 weeks car hire at the Malaga airport, Payed the invoice. After not getting a conformation I finally find out thet they could not deliver the hired car. Did speak to them on phone and mail in order to get my paid money back. Filled in the necessary form Decode mailed me. Spoke again several time by phone with them. Last contact was Friday 25-09-2009. Promished me by phone to pay the money back next week. Went for 2 weeks on holidays, after returning no refund.
They don't answer the phone any more and I don't get any replies om my mails.
I think the Decode Car Hire is just an other SCAM company.
