Purchased a chest of drawers for my daughter to use at college. She began having trouble with the chest where the safety mechanism would lock up and she could not open any drawers. Furthermore, the chest had cheap particle board which began flaking off and basically disintegrating. One day the front of the drawer fell off. The problem was that this took more than 90 days. The chest had taken me and my husband about 5 hours to assemble and weighed over 100 pounds. My daughter only weighs a little over 100 pounds. She also does not have a large vehicle, so she had no way to return the item. When I came back to Tuscaloosa to help her, the store manager was actually rude to us. He just kept stating that it had been over 90 days and he could not help us. I was appalled when I checked the website for this product and read the other reviews. You can read for yourself at:

There were many complaints from other customers who had experienced the exact same problem that we did. THIS PRODUCT WAS DEFECTIVE AND TARGET HAD BEEN NOTIFIED THAT IT WAS DEFECTIVE - SEVERAL TIMES! WHY DOES THIS CORPORATION GET AWAY WITH RIPPING PEOPLE OFF? I have been a loyal Target customer for many years, but they have lost my business.
If you are a customer who has been taken for a fool by Target you have three options:
1. Repurchase the product, switch out the defective parts, and return the second purchase.
2. File a dispute with your credit card company, if you charged the purchase,
3. Hire an attorney
At least get the word out to all your friends that if they shop at Target, don't be surprised if you get burned really badly!
