Had ordered a hamster habitat from Petco. Fedex had it on 12/16/2010. For the next 3 days they noted they could not deliver package due to weather conditions. The weather conditions were sunny in the upper 30's. It had snowed earlier in the week but the roads had been cleared and the temperature in the upper 30's had melted all the ice on the roads. UPS trucks were out delivering. Saw a DHL truck delivering to a business. USPS delivered several packages. So why did Fedex say the weather prevented them from delivering? On Monday afternoon, came home to find the hamster habitat at my back door. There was a massive tear in the packing where something had hit it. Sufice it to say, the habitat was broken into little shards of plastic. Called Petco immediately and they were most anxious to replace it but with the procedure, would not have had it until after Christmas. Thanks to Petco's generous in store trade option, I was able to go to the nearest Petco store, 75 miles away, and replace it immedicately. I think Fedex knew it was damaged in transit and just stalled for time until they knew I could not get it replaced by going through channels. This had the potential of putting a bad mark on our Christmas, but thanks to Petco, This Christmas will be great.
