Dell lies and doesn't fix problems
I have been a Dell customer for several years and didn't have an issue until I purchased my laptop 3 months ago.My hard drive failed 2 months after purchasing the Dell Inspiron 1564 notebook.Called the customer service line and they sent me a new hard drive and told me to install it.I installed it exactly as the instructions shown and powered on and my laptop had a stretched out screen, looked like it was booted in safe mode but wasn't.Called dell and they performed troubleshooting on two seperate occasions and was unable to correct the problem.I told them about the screen being distorted after the hard drive replacement and it seems to be overheating as well. The dell tech support agent told me that I would need to send the laptop to them for repair and that the motherboard needed to be replaced and the heat sink as well.I sent the laptop to them, noticed while I was tracking my package that it was another company that my computer went to, I suppose they outsource their repair center as well as customer service.I received my laptop back a week later, they had put the old hard drive in it and sent me another and stated that the HD and put in the refurbished one they sent me and still, the same problem! Not only did they not repair my laptop but they caused even more issues and it won't even power on anymore. The repair note that was sent with my computer wasn't even correct. It had somebody elses name and service tag number and in the detailed section those issues were not relative to the ones I was having. It states in the notes that the computer wouldn't power on and how funny that mine now doesn't even power on!Fed up, I give dell a call, explain the whole situation to them and the rep told me "as a one time thing"they will send a repair tech out on Tuesday, as monday was the day after July 4th and they wouldn't be opened.Fine I said, I just want my laptop fixed as I run a business and my laptop is my lifeline.Tuesday comes and don't receive a call from the repair tech.I call dell that evening and explain that they were suppose to have a tech call me and come fix my computer that day. They lie and say well one was just about to give you a call but I will have them call you twice.I was like okay good.Never received a call.I finally received a call this morning from the tech and he staes he can't make it until tomorrow as he has no time today. So, Dell is full of BS.They have lied to me, given me he run around, didn't repair my laptop, mess my laptop up even more, and not follow through with their promises.I have had complete hell dealing with them and will never be purchasing a dell again. Not only have I called them on several occasions I have used Dell chat support many times and they never seem to help.Stay away from Dell!

Worst experience ever
I have had worst experience with DELL product. I would recommend one and all not to purchase anything from DELL. They route the call to India and people there really do not know what they are speaking. They give all kinds of false assurances.

Awful experience
This is the worse service from compny tht i've ever hd. I'm typing with my new keybord tht is defective. I was trying to do is get replcement. The letters 1qaz (using on screen keybord thru Accessibility on my computer to give the defective letters). It took 1 hr and 15 min for them to authorize a replacement. Everything I use is Dell, but no more. Was getting ready to order a new computer from them until this experience.

Awful company
It appears that the unending criticism on the Internet and in newspapers and magazines around the globe cannot move Dell to service its products in a responsible way.

Personally, I have been trying for almost two weeks to get my Dimension E510 back into operation and I have heard every story in the book. Most recently, I was to receive, by DHL Express, a rescue disk by May 19th. It wasn't even shipped until the 19th and when queried, I was assured it would be here by the 21st, but it turns out that Dell has specified a May 22nd delivery date.

Their India service center obviously lies, and they get away with it because Dell not only tolerates it, they encourage it. Once they have your money, what do they need you for?

Horrible service
I needed Dell to change the address on a package that was in route because I moved from one place to another. Well Dell told me to call DHL, the company that delivers their packages, to tell them to change the address by simply giving DHL the tracking number. DHL would not change the address because they are in agreement with Dell on sending DHL an email from Dell's liguistics department or whatever department to DHL to authorize this change. No one at Dell knew about this. Needless to say that DHL just placed a hold on the package and allowed me to pick it up, but Dell was not step in and take control like other companies or go above and beyond the call of duty to help a customer. Horrible Service Indeed!

Unbelievable
Bought a computer on 4/6/08 and supposed to have it shipped on 4/10/08. That date I've got an email letting me know that has been a delayed: will be on 4/17/08. Today I've received another email telling me that they have another delayed on the shipping will be between 4/24 and 5/1/2008. Well, until today I did not say anything, but today I started to complaining to them directly and all over the places I find. It is unbelievable that Dell ( this for you too Mr M. Dell ) gave the reasons it did and also the customer representative left me waiting for ever on the line as soon as I asked for a supervisor!! Unfortunately Dell is one more of the home companies that is leaving the way "it used to be". And customers are with no help from games.

Nightmare
My recent experience with purchasing a computer through Dell corporation via mail order has been one of the most horrible of my "consumer" career!

To begin with, my order was plagued with incorrect orders that had to be correct several times. This was a process that took well over a month to correct because I had such a difficult time actually conecting with the proper agent.

Once the order had been corrected, the time frame for delivery proved to be entirely inaccurate. When I opted to pay via debit card over the phone I was assured (a total of five different times) that the amount approved by my bank would be held until delvery date. Not only was this not the case but when my bank manager and I went back through the electronic orders on my account we discovered that ithad never been order by Dell in the first place. Subsequently, my banking account suffered a number of uncessary fees which I was responsible for paying.

Let's move on to delivery. When the delivery was due to arrive (some two months later) I was assured that the items would be delivered in a manner that would require a signature because I was concerned about items of this value being left on my front porch. As you may probably guess, the items were left on the front porch accessible to anyone who might come by and decide to pick them up. I believe this actually happened with the delivery with the speaker bar that was ordered. Dell advised me that the speaker had been delivered on a certain date but we never received it. They said they would send me another one but when that arrived it was not correct because I have never been able to access sound on this computer. I still cannot to this day, despite my numerrous attempts to correct the situation.

Obviously, I considered returning to entire mess back to Dell but I was told I would have to pay a $400.00 re stocking fee to do so. I have lost out on so much money due to bank charges etc, , this will only add insult to injury.

During the conversations I have had with

Dell corporation, and they are too numerous to count, I would say only that only abut one quarter of these conversations were with individuals who were able to communicate with me without difficulty. The language barrier that existed between the Dell representative and myself was overwhelming. I am a teacher who is a great advocate for tolerance and understanding when it comes to working with those from diverse cultures, but this experience was incredible challenging despite my best efforts. In fact, I chose Dell in the first place because my school district had Dell computers. When I returned to school in September I discovered that all computers in the district were being replaced with HP computers due to the poor quality of Dell equipment and poor customer service.

The last computer I purchased before this was an HP that my husband and I purchased for our family in 1998. This computer is still running strong; despite is diminished capabilities due to its age. My teenagers still opt to use the HP over the brand new Dell because every time the log on there is yet another crisis to deal with. (Let's not forget it still doesn't have any sound!!!)

This company should take some responsibilty for the hardships it has brought on this family who operate under a limited income (We are both educators), despite the sacrifices we make for the general welfare of our nation's youth.

Additionally, if Dell is going to continue to advertised as they have been, they should do all in their power to make sure that their product and service match their advertising claims. I have never made a complaint of this nature before, but I feel compelled to warn an unsuspecting public.

computer has never worked properly
• Immediately after purchase/delivery of this computer (11-05-07), it would go to a blue screen. This could happen 5-6 times a day. We contacted Dell and they had us run diagnostic tests. The decision was that the hard drive should be replaced. Dell sent a new hard drive and installation was completed with the help of a Dell (telephone) technician. The operating system was also reinstalled at this time.
• The blue screen (full page screen that locks the computer and has to be restarted) continued.
• Next I was told that I needed additional memory (RAM) to operate Vista efficiently. We purchased 2 sticks of 2GB memory and installed them.
• After that we were told to update the drivers. We did and still got the blue screen.
• Next we were told that we needed to remove one stick of memory. We did that and still got the blue screen.
• I’ve e-mailed pictures of the blue screen to Dell representatives. Next I was told that we should re-install the operating system.
• Operating system was re-installed 12-29-08.
• Computer worked fine for 6 weeks.
• Computer crashed (lost everything) Feb 09.
• Feb 2009, Dell technician and his supervisor both said that computer would be replaced if there were any additional problems.
• 4-3-09, called each of the people I spoke with on 2-17-09. Left messages including case number. Neither has returned my call as of 4-11-09.

Documents showing numerous phone conversations and case numbers, letters to Dell HQ, and online chat can be provided.

Lost my computer and data
Sent my computer in for repair. When they shipped it back, they shipped it to my old work address, not the address they picked it up from. When I found out that my system was miss shipped, I contacted Dell (1/12/09). I was told that there was nothing this team could do and that I would get a call back in 24 to 48 hours. On Wednesday (1/14/09) I called Dell and talked to a different manager. He said my case had been assigned to the executive team and that I would get a call back and that he would send another request to call me. On Thursday (1/15/09) Shobhit (ID 55196) told me that I will yet again be getting a call back today. The entire time (one full week), the system with all my personal data has been at a different location then mine.
