Warranty rip off
I have had 7 sessions with dell techs.3 from hardware, 3 from software and then back to hardware.Hardware said it was a software problem.Software said it was a hardware problem after I paid them 200.00.Since I was last told it was a hardware problem that is covered they said they would give me my money back in 3 days. That was a week ago and no money yet. They sent me another computer after I raised *** enough. It has scratches all over the front of it, not the same as my computer and don't work. When I told them this they responded by saying they would order parts to fix it!So I told that *** where he could shove that computer!3 weeks after this started, still broke computer, out 200.00 bucks and a piece of crap back in the box beside it.Time for a lawyer!

Customer Service/ Fraud
I remember waiting years wanting my first Dell laptop & finally I got one. It turned out to be one of the worst nightmare w/ a company I ever had. I actually won it in a school contest that I was attending to learn about computers. So it was specially ordered for me w/ upgraded hardware, a large capacity hard drive, speical software, a three year antivirus software package and most important of all a damn good warrenty w/ accidental coverage. I mean I have 4 children all under the age of 8. Would I really be that dumb not to get a warrenty. It's even listed on my recipt for everything I purchised w/ the laptop. Also when I recieved the first 1 the CD drive wad bad and had to be replaced. So they replaced it but it still didn't work right so after 3 months of that I got another 1 that was an upgraded modle. It was perfect w/ the exception it had Windows Vista & I don't need to tell u how crappy that operating system is. Then my 2 year old at the time cracked the screen on it. This is where everything goes straight 2 Hell. When I tell you I spent 6-7 months calling that company for hours upon hours a day. Trying to get them to honor the warrenty I paid for. Only once did I even speak to an American. I never even talked to anyone in the United States. They got me so mad I would be crying on the phone w/ them. When I would call them I would have to pop a Valium or somthing just to speak w/ them. I even called the Attorney General's office in Ohio to file a legal complaint & they told me to stand in line. They already had atleast 250, 000 complaints already w/ the same story I had about honoring warrenties and fixing faulty hardware. I finally got them to send me a brand new one that was pretty nice, but it would never make up for what they put me through. Here's the icing on the cake 2 moths later my laptop got stolen and the forgot to reintall the lowjack software in it so it could be tracked. So I gave up & just went out and got me an HP & ain't had any problems yet...Knock on wood...

Did not honor shipping date
DEll promised me delivery of a TV by on or before December 23rd. I will not get my TV until December 28th. The customer service center offered no explanation or help and hung up on me 3 times. They also never passed me to a supervisor.
I will never by Dell again. They obviously lied to me to get the sale.

Worst company/ defective products
first i ordered a refurbished computer and they sent me one with wrong specs (4GB memory instead of 6GB and dual core instead of quad) so i call technical support and i get transfered a total of 10 times, then when the guy finally says he'll help me the line magiclly gets disconected (after more then an hour), i call again and spend another 1.5 hours talking to some idiot who is trying to bullshit me and telling me thats the processor i ordered (even though its clearly not and the reciept shows it) and try to tell me that the memory is actually 6GB but its only showing 4 because its windows7 32bit (which is completly wrong because i had the 64bit version) anyway after i prove to the retard that he is wrong, he apologies and says ill be getting my replacement with the right specs in a week or two with a sticker to return the one i have.
after about a week i recieve my computer with the right specs but the return label is not included, after using the computer for less then 30 minutes it starts freezing and the monitor and keyboard would turn off, obviously a defective product, i spend another hour on the phone holding for the tech department and finally right when i get the representative line gets magiclly disconnected (AGAIN!!!) i call back and this time the a rep tells me the warranty on my product is expired and hangs up right away (i still have more then 10 month on it) i call back again and after waiting for some time a rep tells me their system is down and to call back in 2 hours, i call back after 3 hours they tell me to call back tomorow.
obviously they do not care about their customers and dont stand behind their product, after my experiense with them the last couple of weeks i would never purchase a dell again in my life

Order Delays
I ordered a Sony 46 inch 1080p lcd tv from Dell on 11/29/2010 due to the cyber Monday deal. I was originally given the expected on or delivery date of 12/13/2010. When that date rolled around and still no tv, I called and was told there was a delay and the date was pushed back to 12/17/2010. I have been sending emails & calling Dell's customer service and being told that the item was back-ordered from the vendor. Now today, 12/15/2010...I check my account and it's showing a new delivery date of 12/22/2010. I am on a budget and am currently without a tv. If I cancel now, I won't be able to find it for the cyber Monday price and I cannot seem to get any kind of actual idea when or if I will eventually get this item. Before this order, I have had nothing but praises for Dell but it seems their company has become unreliable.

Lost my order
I placed an order with Dell for a Vizio 47-inch E470VA 1080p LCD HDTV on 11/29/2010 during their advertised Cyber Monday special. I had debated between buying this special or one on Amazon but went with Dell. That was a major mistake on my part as I have never had a problem with Amazon and shop with them all the time.
I received my order acknowledgment from Dell (Dell Purchase ID: 2002922681782)on 11/30/2010. After a few days I started to become concerned when my order status was not updated and contacted Dell support.
When I called, the support rep said I would have to call the next day because their system tools were down. On 12/6/2010 I finally received a cancellation notice with the following text:
"This is to inform you that a technical error occurred during processing that resulted in our inability to gather the information necessary to fulfill your recent order. As a result, we have cancelled the order. You have not been charged for this order."
"The fastest way to reinstate your order is for you to visit www.dell.com and place a new order."
Of course by this time I had missed out on an opportunity to get a good deal and they have raised the price on this TV back to their regular price. I have purchased hundreds of items online over the years and have never had an order confirmed and then "lost". This is supposed to be a huge technical company.
I have since been in contact with their order support team and they will not honor the original purchase price from Cyber Monday.
I highly recommend you stay away from them as their customer support is the worst I have ever seen especially with a company as big as theirs.

Customer Service
Dell maybe cheaper than most competitors in Malaysia but their customer service sucks! Upon receipt of my order acknowledgment, i realised that the invoice name was input incorrectly hence i immediately wrote an email to their customer service and the email which sent me the acknowledgment. I also followed-up with a call to their toll-free number. I had little hope of the possibility of making the change but the personnel who attended to me confirmed that it can be done as long as the invoice has not been billed.
I did everything according to his advice but it has been almost 3 months now and no one has replied me despite writing to the customer service email. I know someone mans it because it initially replied me with advice on the exact documents required for my request. But once i sent in everything, no reply or acknowledgment whatsoever!
I have sent many requests for update and can't even call to follow-up because oddly enough, Dells customer service trainer teaches staff to use a generic customer service email but not sign their name.
How queer is that? is it some ploy to deflect responsibility or ignore emails when they wish to? So no one needs to take responsibility if there are disputes with customers because they can't trace who attended them?
No Dell website in the world has an email to write to. All use website forms which as predicted, no one responses to.
It is appalling to note that a multinational company like this has such bad service. Take a leaf out of some of your peers please! Whether your response to me is to allow my request or reject it due to your internal policies, it is COMMON COURTESY to reply! My experience is worse because i know someone is manning that email. If no one responded to my email in the first place, at least i can make a conclusion that - oh ok, service is bad. But to answer some of my emails and then disappear just leaves a worse after taste.
Anyway, i hope someone from Dell USA is reading this and check on Dell Malaysia's practice. It's giving you a bad name.

Fraud
Is Dell trying to make money by sending out updates to Dell computer users and then trying to charge them when they do not download. I recently was notified that Dell had a new Solution Center update that I tried to download twice with an error message and when I went to the online chat session site I was told I would have to call an 800 number and there would be a charge to fix the download problem. Dell I use to think you were a great company but it looks like you are getting like everyone else with your only goal to maximize corporate profits.

Problems GALORE with laptop
I have been a long-term, loyal customer of Dell. I recently purchased my FOURTH compter from the company. It is CRAP. Their support is AWFUL. I feel like a rube who has been taken. Hardware claims the problems are software. Software says I have no warranty. It is one hot mess. Bottom line: Dell does NOT honor its warranties any more. Dell does NOT provide support beyond a very, very narrow window. (I purchased my brand new Dell laptop in late August, and in November they are refusing support.) Dell has fallen off a cliff when it comes to hardware qualify, software quality, support quality. If you are considering a new laptop. I highly suggest you buy from anyone OTHER THAN Dell. They will leave you high and dry. Forget getting ANY assistance at all getting any of your peripherals to work with the new computer. Forget getting any assistance if you start getting strange error messages on start up. Dell will simply blame anyone and everyone else and tell you you must PAY for any help at all. Down with Dell. Down on Dell. Dell is hell, naught is well with Dell. Run, hide, but do NOT buy from this company. You'll be sorry.
