Puppy Sale Fraud
Dee advertised her puppies as "rare blue" Olde English Bulldogs for $1500 on Terrific Pets. After many phone conversations and emails exchanged, in which she assured us that the dam was an Olde English, the sire an English belonging to her friend, and that the puppies were registered with CKC as Olde English, we finally purchased the puppy to start a hobby breeding program of our own. We even received photos of both the dam and sire. I was hesitant to pay this much for a puppy sight unseen but Dee convinced me that she was a very honest person so we wired the money. The puppy came then the papers followed in the mail a few days later. Low and behold, the puppy was really registered as a miscellaneous breed and appears to be a pitbull. Three different vets have said the pup is a pitbull, and again, the paperwork registers the puppy as a miscellaneous, not an Olde English Bulldog. Upon contacting Dee about this she said she's sorry, she didn't realize the paperwork said this (even though she's a registered breeder and it's her own paperwork) and she cannot refund our money because her husband just lost his job. After several phone calls she had her number disconnected. We have emailed many times but not received any further replies. I am very upset that we were scammed but I know it happens and we should have been more careful. We will keep the pup because she's very sweet but certainly not worth $1500; she's really just a mutt. We will never purchase an animal that we cannot drive to see first again. I know that Dee has sold an entire litter of these pups to other people and she IS a registered breeder so I felt that, even though we will never hear from her again or receive our money back, we should make sure that others know to beware of her and that maybe she will be held accountable at some point. We will be filing a complaint with the Texas Attorney General, with Terrific Pets, and with the CKD. Kathy Williams
