My name is Manivasan Naicker. I live in Durban, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. I express my utmost disappointment to servicing of Denon Products in South Africa.
A limited a range of Denon products are distributed by a company called Mandarin. This company also carries out any repairs to Denon Products.
I've purchased a Denon AVR 2105 Amplifier in August 2005. In July 2006, the Amplifier was sent to Manadarin, as the out put stage was damaged. Since November 2006, on at least three occasions, my amp was sent back to Manadarin. I still don't have my repaired or returned.
The problem with the amp was either the left output was unusually low, with all default settings, compared to the right output and / or no on screen display.
On numerous times, I've been told by this company either, the amp is sent to their JHB branch or its currently on test or they awaiting parts from their local branches or they awaiting parts from overseas. At one time I was even told that they replaced all the parts in the amp, which I did not believe. Another story I heard that some-one burn the PC board.
Over a month ago, some time in May 2007, after phoning the local agent, they mentioned that they would source a new amp from their nationwide branches. Upon phoning them two weeks, ago 6 June 2007, they had mentioned that the amp has just arrived & to date I've not received any amp from them. The only thing I am grateful for this agent is that they loaned me the amp in the interim.
My main concerns are:
1. Its been over 6 months, and my repairs has not been resolved.
2. The agent was not keeping up to date with the progress, I had to keeping phoning & checking.
3. I've been continuously made promises, but no action.
4. What more problems can I expect, should I receive my amp or the new amp with any future problems.
How does Denon maintains its sustainability in a country like South Africa?
A very very very Disappointed Denon Customer
