Dentrix is almost a really good dental ofc mgt software tool. Kudos on many things...BUT...what could be more basic than handling a credit card return/credit? Dentrix absolutley cannot do this. Believe me, we have tried and we have called and we have paid. So...you still have to give the customer the credit and they have the right to have the money put back onto the card which they used. The customer is happy. Now the tears. YOU, Mr. Dentist, must figure out what combination of plugs/adjustments/write-off's and accounting no-no's to use to make it work and to get your own accounts back into balance. This scenario is a frequently recurring nightmare. Easiest answer? Write the patient a check and eat the 2-4% you paid to Bank America for the charge. Yes...it may cost you $50 to give somebody their money back, but that penalty pales in comparison to what you must do and endure to work the transaction thru their credit card without Dentrix'
