For the second time in two months the local US Bank has "mis-counted" my coin deposits. I save my coins from morning coffees and whatever else comes about & usually have between $40-$50 in loose coins. I don't always count them before I take them to the coin counter at US Bank, but the last two times I did manually count them. The first time, about 2 months ago, the machine shorted me about $2.50. This time after waiting longer to cash them in I counted out over $58. in coins including 116 dimes. The coin counter came up with $46+ and did not count ANY of the dimes. I complained to the teller who of course said, "the machine is always right." I objected stating I counted all the coins myself. I asked to see the manager who said, "Maybe you put them somewhere else." JERK! Practically accusing me of trying to defraud them. I said no that was not the case and there was no way I missed 116 dimes. They would do nothing about it.
I will probably complain to the higher levels of US Bank since that info is available online. I may also complain to the FDIC. I suggest others do the same and inundate the executives of US Bank and the FDIC with complaints. It does virtually no good here on this venue.
In addition, my wife "took advantage" of a supposed marketing plan wherein if a certain amount was deposited into savings and kept there for a minimum number of months, two $50 gift cards would be awarded. She got her gift cards, but no one will take them including Wal-Mart, Sams, Kohl's, Target, JC Penney and most of the department stores.
This is a very poorly run and aggressive bank. Customers are nothing more than "marks" just waiting to be taken advantage of.
