I received a call from this supposed company at work and they continued to say that i took out a payday loan and did not pay it back. They said they have three cases against my name and i needed to call his manager back as soon as possible. I realized this was a scam and told him so and asked him to stop calling me and hung up the phone. This is where the real problem began. He had a heavy Indian accent and proceeded to call my job repeatedly. He definitely had a machine because i would be on line one and he would call line two. My manager got involved because at this time, no calls could come through because he was calling so much. He even said i had to give him my information immediately and i am a fraudulent lady. He said i would get the repeated calls if i didn't pay and the police are his slaves. I told him, i prefer if you take me to court and he said i don't care what you say, i will continue to call you over and over again. My manager asked to speak to his supervisor, he put her on hold for five minutes and never got back on the phone. He was laughing. I called Verizon to block the calls but they could not until i had a police report. Well, i called the police and told him that i had called the police, he was relentless. He must have been calling from another country because he had no fear of being caught. He requested information from the officer but would not give any of his. I was angry at the officer actually because although she took my information, she seemed bent on thinking that it was my fault. I repeatedly ahd to tell her that i have never taken out a payday loan. She even had the nerve to ask me had i dated anyone lately. I tried to tell her the name of the company he used but she just didn't care. I even gave her a printout of some of the complaints i saw online but she didn't take it. This guy had no fear whatsoever. It was very surreal and very upsetting. No joking, he called perhaps about 50 times within a two hour stretch. He even cursed on the phone. I pleaded and begged for him to stop but he would not. That was my mistake. He sensed my weakness and i think he felt that if he pressured me enough i would give in and give him money. I even tried to give him fake information to get him to go but he knew it was fake right away. Finally, the calls stopped. Nothing so far today but i hope that something can be done. I could have lost my job. It was embarrassing to say the last because now people in my job thinks i might have taken out a payday loan. I have been applying for jobs online so i don't know if he got my information that way either. Be carefull whatever you do on the internet.
