I bought the DVD player on 9/19/09 and from the start the remote control only worked when it was less than 1 foot away from the player. They nicely sent me a replacement remote, but upon first use it worked just like the first. I lived with that problem, as my time has been too busy to do otherwise.
On 2/7/10 I went to insert a DVD into the player, but with the remote the player would shut on for 2 seconds, then shut off. I tried it manually w/o the remote, same result.
I unplugged it from outlet, plugged into other outlets, same result. Unplugged it for hours, tried again, same result.
Called Customer Service today and they said to ship it back with a check for $20, since it was over 90 days old, and out of warranty!!! I told the rep that was lousy PR, lousy business practice, he forwarded me to management to see if they could do me a better offer, but I immediately got disconnected (314.657.2432) I called the number back and after 5 minutes on hold was relegated to leaving a message. I hung up.
