I called the company to get an engineer to unblock a rainwater pipe that is flooding my hallway. An engineer arrived as promised at 15:30 and left at 17:30. The engineer arrived without the equipment to lift a manhole cover - I had to go to a neighbor's contractor to borrow a manhole key to assist him. I lent the engineer my hose in order to fill up his tank in his van. The engineer spent 45 minutes assessing the blockage, setting up his pressure hose and filling his tank. When he went to turn it on, it failed to start because of a faulty motor. He spent at least 30 minutes trying to get his pump motor working, it did not start and he was therefore unable to operate the pressure hose to clear the blockage. He spent another 30 minutes packing up and on the phone trying to get another engineer to come. Had the pump worked the blockage would have been repaired probably in 15 minutes and it is likely I would have been charged 1-1/2 hours in total. I phoned head office and agreed that another engineer would arrive at 11:00 the following day and I would be charged no more than one hour maximum. At 11:00 the next day, I telephoned to confirm and was told an engineer will be there shortly, I waited 1-1/4 hours, no one turned up and I telephoned again to be told an engineer will not be coming, but someone will call back to rearrange. I called again at 17:30 to be told again someone will call me back. I called again at 19:30 to be told the same thing, I sent an email of complaint. I called again the following day at 11:00 to enquire when the work will be completed? I was told someone will call me within the hour. I called again at 13:00 to be told the manager is at a meeting and will pass the message on. I am now completely fed-up, £161 worse off and I still have a blockage.
