I went to Dick Says Yes on a web-invitation to see what they had in used cars.
I told the dealer what I wanted/what I could afford/and further specificcs such as a small car=-automatic.
After 9 hours of hasseling with the sales rep and financial officer I ended up with this story-
"We currently misplaced your keys to you Suzuki, but we have a car for you to use for the next few days. By then when you return we should have your keys and car here on the lot for you.
You must sign all the legal papers in order for you to use the Ford 500 in case you are stopped by the police, you will not be arrested for stolen vehicle."
I specifically said that I did not want the Ford 500, it was too big, too fancy, and I cannot afford it.
Like I say, after 9 hours I had a migraine and told the dealer fine I would use the car for 3 days. When I returned I wanted my car back and they can have the loaner car.
3 days went by and I returned to Dick Says Yes. The dealer refused to take the Ford 500, the sales ref said that I could not return the vehicle simply because I did not like it or that I could not make the payments, the Assistant Manager said that if I would return in another 3 days she would get to the bottom of the incident and find my Suzuki and have it on the lot for me.
I returned in 3-days. Again no Suzuki. The Assistant Manager told me that my car was taken to another lot and mistakenly sold immediately. However, they do have another vehicle that I may like just as well. I had to ride with the salesman to Dick Hanna on Auto Mart in Vancouver. I was given the keys to a Ford Mustang to drive back to Dick Says Yes.
When I arrived at the lot, I told the salesman and the Assistant Manager that I had a mustang when I was younger-hated it. I do not want this Mustang for the fact that there is no room in the back seat, it was a convertable, and I constantly lost control of the rear tires whenever I went arount a turn.
"I want my Suzuki back. You find who you sold it to and return it to me.You will take back the Mustang."
Now mind you I was harassed and lied to in order to take posession of a vehicle(s) that I did not want and could not afford.
Plus the dealer took advantage of me because of my age(senior citizen) and the fact that I am female and never bought a car in my life.
Yesterday I received court papers from attorneys representing Dick Says Yes ordering me to pay for the vehicle(s) that was forced on me--and to this day I have not received my Suzuki nor did I receive money for my car!!
I would like to know how in the Hell can this dealer stay in business?
