WARNING! Do yourself a huge favor; DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH DICK SCOTT in Fowlerville Michigan. Here's a couple examples of horrible customer service, poor management, unsafe used cars and false advertising: First have had my 41K truck in for service three or four times for an electrical short in the interior lighting. After arguing with the mechanic that the light existed, he proceeded to break my rear window switch, said he would order the part and call me in few days. Mind you this is the after having the vehicle in twice before and the dealer claiming it was fixed. This morning I called to verify the proper parts arrived and I was assured they did. This evening I was told the wrong parts where ordered. What ever happen to good customer service? What's even more frustrating is that every visit so far when parts are ordered I ask the same question "Will you call me when the parts arrive?" You guested it, no calls and rude attitudes when you ask why not?
On to Dick Scott Management, don't bring a problem to them because they don't understand how to deal with customers. It's very obvious that Dick Scott doesn't give a shit about repeat customers and have no respect for anybody's time but their own. God forbid you ask them to resolve an issue because they will just ask stupid questions to skirt the underlying problem. When I talked to the top manager I informed him that I had purchased two new vehicles and one used in the past six months; he showed no interest in my issues. I guess customer loyalty doesn't mean anything to auto dealers these days.
False Advertising: I selected a 2007 vehicle based on the companies website, the car had no window sticker because it was a fresh trade-in. The website stated it had A/C but did not. Unfortunately I didn't question the integrity or honesty of the dealer and that the option existed. I unfortunately didn't discovery the misrepresentation until I failed to locate it on the first Michigan hot day in April. Yes, this was my oversight but they misrepresented the manufacture options. I really like the vehicle and don't have time to find another or hassle with the dealerships at $4.00 a gallon for gas and working 10 - 12 hour days.
Safety Issues and Poor Quality Used Vehicles:
I bought a 2007 GM car and I pointed out the brakes didn't feel right before buying it. I was told the mechanics inspected the brakes and they checked out fine and the mechanic cleaned the brakes. I picked up the car the following day and drove it home on side streets. The next morning I hopped in the car and headed off to work on the freeway, when stopping for traffic, the car shook so bad I nearly rear-ended the car in front of me. I headed off the first exit and went straight home. The next day I purchased all new brakes parts and replaced them myself, problem solved, THANKS Dick Scott for giving a shit about safe used cars for your customers. On a side note, all filters were filthy along with the oil and transmission fluid. Oh, the windshield wipers were shot too, discover that on days two when I got caught in the rain.
I'm not generally a person that complains and consider myself a level headed guy, perhaps to nice and honest. Save yourself the stress, heart ache and potential car accident and choose another car dealer, seriously...
