I took my vehicle to the dealer for an engine nock. After performing $800 worth of repairs and diagnosis I was told that I needed a new engine. The problem was significant enough that they should have been able to diagnose the problem without the unnecessary repairs that ran up my bill.
The dealer did an engine flush, replaced two sets of lifters, and then check the rod bearings. The actual problem was a the main bearing. The end play on the crank shaft was out by 0.030. They should have been able to diagnose this problem immediately.
