Last week I was looking for a new camera, the Canon SD10. I found a good price on digitallydiscovered.com, and I called to check that they would be able to ship the same day if I ordered online.
I was assured that this was the case, and placed the order. That was Friday. On Monday I saw that I
had a message from them saying they needed to confirm my information; when I called back, it was clear that the actual reason they wanted me to call was to try to sell me various accessories. I said that I just wanted the camera, and was again assured that it would be shipping that day.
Today (Wednesday), I called to get a tracking number, after being on hold for 50+ minutes (I left my phone on speaker while I was working, and since it has a timer on it I was kind of just seeing how long it would go for) I gave up on Customer Service. I called sales and spoke to Kevin, who told me that my email address had been entered incorrectly and that as soon as he put it in the system I'd be mailed a tracking number.
He told me it was impossible to tell if my order was shipped or not, but that "the system" would send me a mail. I called back agin & spoke to someone else who informed me that my order should ship within 2 days, at which point I cancelled the order. I will be checking with my card company, however, to ensure that they don't charge anything, since they seem to be a dishonest outfit.
