takind advantage of elderly
purchased directv for my parents for a christmas gift. they never received the dvr they were suppose to get. i've called into customer service quit a few times getting me no where. then they turned direc tv off for 3 days when i had already paid $90.00 when it was suppose to be 29.99 a month. i feel the way i have been treated and the was my parents have been treated and been unbelievable. I hope this is not the way you treat all your customers. and the way your custmer service talked is unexceptable.

Will be the next one asking for a bailout
On Tuesday the 16th of December, our satellite TV went out. We called technical support at Direc TV and they said it would be a $50 charge to come fix the problem. The problem most likely is that the dish is installed on the north side of our house below the roof line. With 36 inches of new snow on the roof, the signal is being blocked. Our neighbour's dish is installed on the south side of his house and he has no problem.
So even though they installed it incorrectly, they want to charge us to come fix it, if they would ever come out. They scheduled for Friday and then called to say they couldn't make it because of road conditions. The roads have been clear for 3-4 days now. As of the 21rst of December, service is still out. We want out of our contract but they will penalize us. So we are stuck. Please don't get stuck in a contract with Direc TV, you will have no recourse.

Anauthorized Bill / Charge
I cancelled my service with DirecTV. I had service for 3 years so my commitment was way passed. They tried to tell me because I had a defective DVR replaced that renewed my contract. They finally agree I was right (I thought) but then they charged my debit card 128.43 without even notifying me which caused an overdraft. Beware - if they have your card info evidently they can charge you anytime they want and for what they want. They do not even need your authorization.

Unfair use of delivering services to old customers
I have been a long standing customer of Direct-tv. and have found this company to overcharge clients for services by telemarketing to resident who are not he legal contact people to order services, after the increase of services they then force the customer to pay for services they do not have no knowledge and has not ordered. Recently this happen to me. I work out of town and had a check returned because of non-sufficient funds to Direc-TV. This was when I realized that they were overcharging for my bill after questing my daughter on why we was paying such a high bill to Direct_Tv. This is a serious problem. They did not want to change it at my request and dis-continued the services until this big bill is payed. I sent one hundred and sixty six dollars to this company and thought about the balance and call to try to reason with the sale person or whoever answer the call. they want to continued me to hold to this big bills, it is not fair to me. I only requested to have a monthly fee of basic cable of $39.95. The two month bill is three hundred dollars plus. I feel that the company should make it right and stop their sale person from making commission on phone sales and upgrade without the owner permission.
