scam:no deals
$5000 down the drain. Me and my husband feel like SUCKERS...we have yet to buy one thing from them because whatever money you "might" save you will have to dish out is shipping or just the joining fee...anytime you have to pay more that 30 bucks ala Sam's Club to join any club get ready to get screwed. Texas gives you 2-3 day to bail out of a scam like this...we discovered too late..there are NO DEAlS at Direct Buy that you just can't find at ANY retail store at any given time...PLEASE do not be another SUCKER...stay away...stay FAR away! Take your 5000 and go on a nice trip

Misrepresentation
Beware: Before signing any contract with this Direct Buy Store, make sure they really carry the products that they claim to. Even though they mentioned 3 times during the presentation that they carried a certain brand of cameras plus had that brand catelog on the shelf: they informed me that they did not work with this camera company. This happened after I signed a contract with them and placed an order. They misrepresented what companies they work with. They would not make good on this situation afterwards and would not relieve me of the membership. They do not honor the promise of reducing the cost 15% of an item that one finds cheaper than they offer it.

Loss of money/ no help
Please whatever you don't get roped into this store...
The savings they claim do not work out from the all the shipping and freight charges, just go to your local store. Also, we bought our very high end expinsive fridge(almost $3, 000)here and when it stopped working in under a year the company, Samsung does not consider Direct Buy a store. IN turn this ment we could not exchange out the item and had to wait months for a refund check. Over and over I heard from Samsung that if we just went to a local retailer, we would not have this issue. I went in person back to direct by to see if I could get any help with all the money I was lossing, on the freight and shipping and tax...Direct Buy stated they could not help at all but order a new fridge with all those charges again.
Please just don't be another victum...

Phone Calls
Today, on Memorial Day, we received a phone call from a telamarketer from Direct Buy. She spoke with my husband and made an offer for a chance to win a fifty thousand dollar make over. My husband gave the phone to my son for me to talk to her. My son accidently hung up the phone. I tried to call it back but it isn't a number that receives calls. At 8:45 pm she calls me back. She asked for me and I said this is she, then she said that earlier she had spoken to my husband and he hung up on her. I tried to apologize and she wouldn't give me a chance to say a word. She went on saying "if you are not interested the proper way is to say you are not interested" then she said " this is how it feels" and she hung up on me.
I understand how hard a telamarketers job is and have always been kind to them. The mistake she made is that we were planning on joining Direct Buy this week! As you have figured it out we will not be joining a company that has childish people working for them! I have made a formal complaint with the BBB and recommend that all are cautious with Direct Buy and their customer service!!

Fraudulent Contract/Scam Operation/High Pressure Scam
This place offers a free 30 day membership and a $200 gift certificate to a high price resteraunt of your choice like SaltGrass, etc. and it turns out that this is a scam with limited choices that you have it is a $100 gift card each for 2 people with online gift cards that you must print out with limited choices and where you can go. They use high pressure sales, and lie to you and tell you that they undercut the retaliers and can beat their prices offering newer merchandise than they can get, faster delivery time, you can pick the fabric, colors, marble, wood, etc. You are the one in control here, and they are at your disposable. All the do is collect money for membership fees for the club to exist. I kept telling them that they were putting the cart before the horse, and I was not ready to commit since I did not have a house yet, and maybe in 6 months, this might be a reasonable but they said that we could never come back and so he told me that we had to commit today! He kept pressuring us to sign on the dotted line and I told him I could not afford $5600 and we were leaving! So he went from the Gold package down to the Silver package and dropped the price and when I got up, the price dropped in half, and than when he saw me walking out, he turned the conversation around, and next he dropped a bombshell on me and without my knowledge told me when we came in the door told me that they charged $199 on my credit card without consulting me or my spouse and said "I hope that is okay with you" I was pissed!!! Than he said we can give you the Gold level for 2800 for 3 years, isn't that a deal, so I left it up to my spouse who was wishy washy because I was so sick and they were pressuring us and I wanted to leave, and they would not let us out of there and were taking advantage of us and would not leave us alone and told us that they were so busy and the next group was coming in and they did not have time to anwer our questions about what we wantd to buy or show us anything. I was very upset about the whole thing and want this ripoff cancelled! This is my credit card! They are thieves of the worst kind. I called them and they do not answer. Their business card lists no address and this was my first day, they are only there to make high commissions for their self centered selves! They sell old outdated crap! I do not appreciate people that misrepresent themselves on the phone, and lie to me in person and cannot make direct contact to me in the eye when I look at them, that shows me they are a liar, and that keep changing the prices, and the high pressure sales, and they would not let me look through the books, or at the computer on line, so what did I pay all this money for, and they rushed me out the door? This is a scam to steal your money and the U.S. Government and State of Texas needs to shut these people down, they are thieves!!!

Would not recommend it to anyone, even large consumers
We bought a whirlpool washer duet and it was a special, free shipping. Unbenounced to us they shipped it to DirectBuy. We don't have a pickup so they want to charge us $75 an hour to deliver it to us which we were under the impression it was coming to our door. In trying to resolve this we call, leave messages and they don't return our calls. You very seldom get a person. Very disappointed in DirectBuy, would not recommend it to anyone even large consumers. If you shop internet you can find great deals and delivered to your door without the hassle.

No saving, waste of time and money
Direct Buy is a waste of time and money, I can't believe I was suckered into this scam. I am normally good at fingering a scam, but because I was redecorating I thought it would be a good ideal. NO such luck, they don't have the vendors I am interested in, they tell you to go to Directbuycares.com to request new vendors and the Directbuycares.com does not exist. Looking through catalogs is boring and time consuming. YOu can't find stores to go to, to look at the product. I am so mad at myself for falling for this so called membership. Please run as fast as you can, DON'T DO IT.

Review-Scam?
A "scam" can be defined as an attempt to intentionally mislead a person with the goal of financial gain.
At Direct Buy there are no positives except for the franchise owners and the corporate ownership, who make amazing profits selling "nothing" for thousands. This business has changed names over the years many times (formerly UCC). When one party gets essentially "nothing" and the other party get thousands, this is a scam.
Anyone with access to a computer can get better pricing on anything they offer, usually with delivery right to the address you request. (often without sales tax)
With Direct Buy they will not even estimate a freight charge, then you have to get it home from their store, driving to Direct Buy during their 'business' hours (limited), and pay a restocking fee if the item has to be returned – for any reason. It can take weeks or months for delivery. By the way, there is another 8% handeling fee added to every order!
Direct Buy will do just about anything to sell you a membership, including the use of very aggressive salespeople to intimidate you. (You will hear you won't be allowed in their showroom for 7 years if you don't buy TODAY!)
They will lie and cheat in order to pry that $5000 membership fee from your wallet since their contract (read ALL the fine print) specifies that anything they tell you verbally doesn't matter and you can't even file a lawsuit against them for any reason. A judge has called it the most one sided contract he has ever seen!
Yes, this meets the definition of a scam. Just because they operate just on the outside of the jailhouse doesn't mean they aren't a scam and should be in the jailhouse.
Govern yourself accordingly.

pyramid scheme
Direct Buy is nothing but a pyramid scheme. When someone joins, the person who made the original phone call gets a commission, the person who invites you to an "open house" (which is like a high-pressured time share deal) gets a commission, the person who sells the membership also gets a big commission. They don't tell you about the fees (shipping & handling), you still have to pay taxes and delivery unless you have the truck to pick up the merchandise.
In the meantime, you can shop the sales at retail stores and save your time and money!!!
