Credit Card Charges
Well they got me to, I've been paying them 39.95 for 5 months to a company called NTK, that I later found out was just Marktecture for some website I never logged into. At the end of the day they gave me 3 months back after calling two call centers speaking to 2 different Reps and when the process was explained the main Company is Direct Commerce Academy who takes your info and gives it to other companies who charge you to help them build your website, so you must cancel them all or you will keep getting charged. The second Rep also said the Company Direct Commerce Academy did a lot of wrong things and they have seperated from that Company

Charges on my debit card
Browsing through the internet I came across Direct Commerce Academy I read all those dumb stories of stay at home mom making good money and for to $2.97 I said alright I soon found out that you had to pay quite a bit more than $2.97 so I stopped and thought I was only out $2.97 and thought nothing more. I missed the charge last month but I caught it today it was a charge of 68.71 by some company that said BIZ 8884957634. My bank couldn't tell me who it was and I couldn't figure it out they also couldn't stop it supposedly because those sneaky DCA people didn't put it as reoccurring monthly charge but called it a membership obviously meaning it was. So I called the 8884957634 number and was persistent they kept telling me they were a third party and couldn't do anything for me other than close my account. I didn't even know what I had an account for!! And getting her to tell me the name of the company or the company they work for was like pulling teeth first she said a rewards company or something then finally DCA. I told the women I would like to speak to her supervisor and she told me she was on the phone with another client. So I said I'll just wait which she wouldn't let me. Apparently they wont ever let you talk to supervisor from what I've read on other complaint sites. But after telling her I wanted to close the account and wanted the pending 68.71 in my account left alone, she said sorry we do no returns and apparently someone was standing beside her because no sooner she got that out of her mouth she turned around and gave me a refund. Being persistent pays off!! Worse comes to worse I would tell them you were going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and I'm positive they'll comply. But supposedly I'm suppose to get my money back in 7-10 business days we'll see!!

DO NOT SEND DIRECT COMMERCE ACADEMY YOUR MONEY I KNOW 2.97 LOOKS GREAT FOR SOME EXTREA CASH BUT IT IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF DON'T LISTEN TO ALL THE MEDIA PRAISING IT!!

Unauthorized use of credit card
This company managed somehow to obtain my Visa credit/debit card information and took money out of my account without my permission! I tried to contact them and I spoke with the "co-founder" of this scam organization and was told there was nothing that they could do to stop the charges against my account.

Fraudulant charges
I went to this website following a link promising the ability to make some easy money at home. After reading the misleading information telling me to sign up for a set price (I think it was $2.99) I clicked to leave the site and it said I could sign up for only $0.99. I did it and then I decided to check online to see if this was a legitemit opportunity. Naturally I should have done this first but I thought that this one could be different. A few days later I received a phone call from a man from the company who began telling me about the opportunities. I explained that my phone's battery was about to die and to please call me the next day. Go figure, that never happened. I checked out a few emails that they send out providing new jobs to make money, but once you read through them they want a few hundred dollars to get started.
I never started anything with this company but had the feeling that I was going to see some bogus charges on my credit card. One week later I checked and sure enough there was a charge of $68.71 along with a foreign transaction charge of $0.69. I called one of the numbers to complain and the woman told me that it was in the fine print that I had one week to cancel or my card would be charged this amount. This information was never available on this website so I told her to cancel my "membership". She told me I would only receive $40 back, and it would take 7-10 business days to see the credit. This is just another bogus company out there scamming hard working people and taking you to the bank. Buyer beware!!!

fraud
Signed up for extra income and all they wanted was more money to do anything. Then it said if not satisfied within 30 days would get a full refund now they will not give a full refund and just want your money not making money on this at all. When called the number to talk to someone they hung up on me DONT DO IT. ITS A SCAM THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY.

response number!!
Just another in a long line of complaints about DCA. First I will give you a "working number" where you can actually talk to someone. I got a confirmation number that my "membership" will be cancelled and that they are refunding my money. That number is 1-800-377-1216.

However, I would like to add that it really is probably more the fault of those of us too lazy to a)listen all the way through to the end of the video b) read the fine print and/or c) pay attention to details. I was going to get back to the information "later" and figured that $3 wasn't going to hurt even if it was a scam. Then that $138+ international charges kicked in and I decided that DID hurt. Problem is, there are no numbers that really can get you to talk to anyone directly about it. The website does almost a "ha ha ha--you must have seen your bank account!". I even went back to their little "academy" and tried to figure out what they were doing. I guess they probably have some almost legit scheme for marketing if you actually can get going with their little plan. Maybe that is for some people. I, however, still never got to the part where they said they would be charging a "maintenance fee" or the international fees either. My bank also had credited me back everything due to "not receiving purchased goods or services". Hopefully others can get the same results after calling that number. Good luck!!

Small print scam
Looked at what I thought and had read was a no hassle at home business, the story was positive on how you could make money from home easily. I guess I should know better by now but I did not see a down side - apparently I did not read the small print well enough and you needed to cancel within 5 days if you were not going to do the program, they made it sound like you could check it out for a few cents. I refused the first couple of offers they put out but I thought .99 was reasonable to check something out. Now I have 4 charges, .99, .02, 1.72 & 68.71 and am on hold with the company trying to get a refund for 20 min now, they make it sound like it is your fault for not knowing where they hide this important information. I would think that you would want to be upfront with people so that you don't have thousands of people calling to try and get refunds. No wonder customer service is rude!

bad business
Before getting started I asked my daughter to assist me. Thought she would have a better understanding as to what they were asking because she uses the computer more than I do. We started out with step 1 and right away were asked to subscribe to pay 39.95 a month for what they called a merchant type of website with a 10 day trial for 1.00. We were going to step two and in the process of coming up with a domain name my daughter wanted to know exactly what was being sold. So she decided to pull up more information on Direct Commerce Academy and to our surprise we found out that Direct Commerce Academy was more of a scam than an opportunity. As we read the complaints more and more we realized that this was just a scam which would lead to more and more money without any rewards. I called my credit card company and canceled my card even though I was told by DCA that they would cancel my subscription but I had no confidence in them doing so based on the other complaints that were posted. It is a good thing that I asked my daughter to assist me otherwise I would've been taken for more than I have. Its a good thing she's more computer smart than I am. So lesson learned is before you go into something check more into the company. This DCA rates an F with the BBB.

unauthorized charges on my debit card
About a week ago, I signed up online (now I know it was a perfect bait to people like me who wants to earn extra dollars ) for a job program that will help me set up a business posting links and I will earn money. The bait was a charged of only $2.97 to start the said business. There was no mention of a charge of $139 + that will come after 3 days if not cancelled. I was asked at the start to put in my debit card number and the cc. I know that what I authorized was only the $2.97. However, I stopped when a bunch of craps was being added and I just cannot go on so I stopped halfway. Now they turned around and charged me not the $139 but $140 had been taken out of my checking account. What these people are doing is totally illegal, dishonest, upsetting and can cause heart attacks. They need to be stopped and be answerable to what they are causing to people like me who are completely innocent to sign up for a job just to add a few bucks to the household income. These people are heartless, and not afraid of the bad karma that can come to them. If there is someone out there that can help poor people like me against DCA...please help us. I am sure I am not the only victim, but there are thousands who were robbed. I went to my bank and my card was changed but yet the charged went through. PLEASE...anybody there who can help?

unauthorized charges
On 10/25/2010 after receiving an email to my Yahoo acct., I accepted a free trial offer from Direct Commerce Academy for a minimal chare of $2.95. However when i entered my bank info. Iwas advised a fee of $138.67
would be charged after 5 days. I cancelled the transaction at that point. However, the company has charged my account the $138.67 as of 10/26.
I called their 800-381-1681 customer service No. and was advised they could only cancel future billing, that I had accepted the current charges.
This company needs to be STOPPED.
I am tring to work this out thur my Bank, but doesn't look too good at this point.
THIS COMPANY NEEDS MAJOR EXPOSURE FOR THEIR FRAUDELENT ACTS.
