Over a year ago I purchased a DVR from Best Buy. The DVR did not work. I was told by Direct TV to return it to Best Buy and get another DVR. I did so, and so the games began. I received phone calls and letters telling me I had to return the DVR to Direct TV. I tried to tell them I did not have the DVR and that it was returned to Best Buy as I was told to do since that was where it was purchased. I was continually harassed for weeks until they told me to send receipts from Best Buy that I had purchased the machine. I sent the receipts and was finally given some peace until I decided to cancel my account with Direct TV. The trouble started all over again. I was asked to return the machine that I had paid for to them or I would be charged over $200.00. Finally after three months of arguing and being threatened to be sent to collections, I said send me a box for return and I will send the machine and a letter with receipts to Direct TV. I was told a box would be sent out that was in July. After a couple of weeks and no box I called them again. Was told I would receive a box in the mail in 5 to 7 business days. That was 3 weeks ago and still no box. I am tired of being harassed to return something I own and tired of being told I was going to go to collections. I have incredible credit and resent being treated in this fashion. I would never recommend Direct TV to anyone and I would never use them again even if they were the only cable suppliers on the face of the earth. I think they treat their customers terribly.
