Defective Equipment / Poor Service
HD Satellite went out early Sunday evening. Non of our 3 TVs worked. Called for service on Monday morning and were advised that the earliest a tech would be availible to repair or replace the defective equipment would be the following Thursday. Called later to complain about the lack of immediate attention given, was advised that the new earliest schedule wouldn't be until Friday afternoon. We will cancel our contract. Direct TV Service sucks!

Installation
I can't believe I fell for it again! I have Direct TV back in 2004 and cancelled my service after a series of debacles with their "independent" contractor that they employ to install & "service" their satellites & receivers. Direct TV takes no responsibilty for their service, errors, issues or if they completely ignore a service call. Well, I was suckered into coming back...fool me twice...They screwed up my installation order, did not give me what I had ordered and then charged me for the upgrades that I had originally asked for. When I called Direct TV about a $115.00 overage on my 1st bill, they said there was nothing they could do for me because the installation company was an independent contractor and they did the right thing. Because they screwed up I have to pay for it???? I am in customer service, I write down everything, times, names, details of all calls logged with them. I wrote down what I was supposed to get 3 times, I know it was not my error. I loathe Direct TV, they have THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ANY COMPANY I HAVE EVER SEEN.

Channels offered we cut off
We were one of the many suckers who switched from DISH to DIRECT TV with their promise of better value, better service. Before agreeing to change, I had the salesperson review the channels we were currently receiving with DISH. I was assured that all channels would be covered under the new DIRECT TV offer. Premium channels were offered free of charge for 3 months. After that time period, I called to discontinue the free channels as we never watched them. Little did I know that the channels we love and which we always had included with DISH were turned off as well because they were "part of the Starz" programming. HUH??? We were never informed of this and feel that DIRECT TV is very dishonest and corrupt. We're stuck with them for 2 long years, now, but will switch back to DISH as soon as possible. FALSE ADVERTISING ON DIRECT TV'S PART!

Scam-false advertisement
Direct TV is one of the biggest scam I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Their advertisement is 29.99 or 34.99 a month. I specifically asked the representative before installation about whether or not there is a contract and was told no, it was going to be a month to month type of service and the monthly charge is 34.99 plus tax. I probably should have just cancelled when Directv can't seem to list my phone number right on their order form because the people that came to install it tried 3 times to find where I live. The first bill I got, I am charged 67.47 not the 34.99 I was told over the phone. When I call to question it, I am told I need to call the rebate dept before they can give me the discount and it would take 6-8 weeks. This is bull shit. So I called them this is now 2 months later and I am still getting charged 67.47. The reps I had the misfortune of talking to were not at all helpful and then informed me that they have no record that I have a rebate in, I asked to speak to a supervisor and found he is the biggest AHOLE alive and has no business being a supervior or dealing with people in general his badge no is LC16142 and his name is Chris. AND THE BIGGEST SCAM OF ALL. THERE IS A 24 MONTHS LOCK TO THIS SERVICE, BIG SURPRISE THEY OUTRIGHT LIED. THEY ARE CHARGING $440 TO CANCEL. THEY FAILED TO ADVISE ME OF THESE CHARGES AND THAT I WILL BE TIED TO A CONTRACT. THEY PROVIDED NO UPFRONT INFORMATION AND THE BEST THEY CAN DO IS "THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO CHANGE THAT". BIGGEST SCAM OF ALL. I AM VERY SURPRISE THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS. TOO LATE. WISH I KNEW.

Everything!
From day one Deirect tv has been nothing but problems! Lets start with the $750 bill we got that was completely wrong. Once we got it fixed and called back the next day to confirm, it was back up to $750. Needless to say it took 3 days and hours on the phone to really correct it. Then when I wanted to cancel after 3 months, they wanted to charge me. Not only that, but everytime I called to get a cancellation price I got a different answer! First they said $300. The a few weeks later she told me it will be $440 because it's $20 for every month cancelled and she didnt know why I was told $300. Then when I called the next day to cancel and suck up the $440, she told me it would be $275- $12.50 per month! I swear these people can make up their own prices!! Not cool!

poor customer service
extremely poor customer service, and installation process...parent company does not support their contract installers...After spending almost 18 hours of time with Direct TV I still don't have the equipment that I originally ordered...and to boot the installer dropped and broke my Television, and I was told that I would have to get estimates for repair, and have it repaired...which meant I would be without television for app 4 weeks...If i could do this all over, I would NEVER deal with this company again...

Poor service!
We have had your service for over 2 years with no major problems other than the DVR installer did not know what he was doing. After getting a call from Dish 4 Less from Miami Florida we added my mother's TV and paid an extra fee of course. All of the sudden after the first billing statement for my mother and us that we paid in full our service was terminated. We keep asking to talk to a manager and don't get one they keep talking about fraud and have asked us to send drivers license, ss#, proof of residence etc for my 84 year old mother.

If there is any fraud is on their side. The BBB should investigate this people.

Direct TV faults, lies, poooooor....
I am with D TV for 3 months and I am already tired of them. hourrrrrrrrrrrrrs of over the phone support, over the phone complaints, 2 time tech out to fix, many phone calls for over the phone tech support (waste of time), I get white screen most of time even on sunny days... I didn't even get my rebate that I was promised to get and was the reason to sign up with them. I was pissed for the poor customer service, poor mgt, bad equipment that get replaced many times, ...etc. I am going to email the CEO and perhaps eventually I will get a laywer since i have 21 more months to go.

Bad customer service
I am leasing my two receivers, had the dish installed by a Direct tv tech. My main receiver had been replaced 3 times within the first two months. Because the service was so new, they did not charge, and I must have been one of those "valued customers".In the past couple months, about one year since the initial install, my main receiver will not change channels or acces any menus through the controller or on the device itself. Upon calling I was told I would have to pay $50 for a service call, and an additional $20 for shipping if the box needs replacing. This is all for equipment I do not own. Also, because the dish was not installed corectly, I lose Hd and some channals about eighty percent of the time, rain or shine. The only way around this is to pay $5 a month for a protection plan, for equipment owned by Direct tv and leased by myself. They did say I can risk injury by going on the roof, and tweeking the dish myself. This is almost like the elect. company telling me to pay or raise my main electric wires myself. Both customer service and agent, and manager, we're only a product of Direct tv training of going by the book, and repeating the same " well it will cost $50 to have a techni..." But at the end of the call, he did ask "Were all your questions answered", and " We value your business." So everything is better.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
This is the WORST! They came to install and they only properly installed 1 of the 3 tv's. I caught one before they left, but didn't catch the third one. They called the next day to set up an appointment to have the tech come back to correct the tv. I wasn't home, so when I called them it took 1 hour and 20 minutes on the phone, and YELLING at them to get someone to come out. They wanted to do it over the phone.! I called to cancel within my 30 day time frame, and they informed there was no 30 day cancellation. That I am STUCK with them for 1 year! The WORST.
