Inexcusable Customer Sevice Part 2
Tom said he would correct this and call in 4 hours to make sure everything was working. No call ever came. The next night there was a 3 hour conversation with Supervisor Kathy. During that conversation it was discovered our credit card had been charged $21.24 for shipping and handling of something. She didn't know what it was and our billing account had been charged $70 for repairs. She should be fired. It should not take a "Supervisor" 3 hours to do nothing but set up another repair appointment that we would again have to pay for. I let her set it up and the next day called our local Ironwood company. They do the contract work for Direct TV here in the Kansas City area. Valerie in their office was a gift from GOD. She set up an appointment for the next day and the problem was solved that night. It apparently was the dish itself. Meanwhile I spoke with Supervisor Justin in ID (Badge #U1058) . I told him an unauthorized charge was made to our credit card. He determined Tony in the Retention Dept in Al (Badge #U7402) had authorized the $70 charge to our statement. I told him those were to be removed. We are contacting the Attorney General in MO. Let's hope Justin keeps his word and removes the charges. Can't wait until our "Contract" is up. BEWARE OF DIRECT TV.

Inexcusable Customer Service Part 3
Forgot to mention that Tony in AL (Badge number U7402) asked if we had a good pair of garden clippers. He suggested we cut the exterior wiring in 4 or 5 places to make sure the local Ironwood contractor would replace it. Kathy, the customer service supervisor who solves problems in 3 hours, had some interesting facts. No customer service rep is allowed to make any outgoing calls. So much for the promise Tom in OK had made to call back. Kathy also said supersivors can make outgoing calls, but only once per week. What authority! I would never work for Direct TV. The level of self-worth their employees must have is below anything I never want to know. It must be hard for Direct TV to find employees with so little concern and kindness for others.

Total incompetency in all regards
Direct TV is so incompetent it is almost hard to fathom. I called in early October to make an appointment at my townhome to have a satellite installed. I explained in detail the rules for the townhome including that it had to be installed on a chimney with siding, and set up an appointment for October 13th. I double checked the date, day and time before hanging up. After five hours of waiting, I called Direct TV and they had a difficult time finding any order. They transferred me to the local installer, because they subcontract their work.....first huge mistake!! They told me the appointment had been set for the 20th. I was angry but told them I would see them next week. After two and a half hours of waiting on the 20th, they called to inform me that the technician had been mistakenly scheduled in Missouri; the problem is I that I live in Minnesota. They apologized and apologized and agreed to come out on a Thursday night, the 25th and told me they would give me a $100 credit on my first bill. I once again told them about the townhome and specifics about the chimney. On Thursday after more than an hour of waiting, the guy showed up. Now this was my third appoinment, and I had waited a total of 8.5 hours. He said they cannot install satellite dishes on chimneys, and refused to even discuss it. When I called the number of the woman who instructed me to call her if I had any problems, she had already left for the day, after promising to be available al evening. Don't waste your time with these sorry bastards. They are disorganized liars and cheaters and will only cause you grief. I spent a month trying to just get a person to my home, and it ended up being worthless anyway. AVOID THESE CREEPS LIKE THE PLAGUE, FOR YOUR OWN MENTAL HEALTH AND TO AVOID WASTING TIME. I called DISH network. They agreed to come in two days......we'll see how it goes.

They took money out of my late refund
After disconnecting from these idiots early in July of 07, they sent me a statement with an amount of -$78.50. After I had cancelled my account, the "customer "SERVICE"" rep said that they will tally up what they owe me and send out a check within 6 to 8 weeks.
They continued to send me statements that I am owed the $78.50. I waited on the customer "service" hotline for a total of more than 15 hours over the course of 4 months to ask them to send me my check. I informed them they were collecting interest on my money, but that was "OK" to them. They told me it would arrive in 8 to 10 days. A month later, I called again, they said it was sent. I waited 2 weeks, no check. It is now LATE October and I FINALLY got a computer-generated, computer folded and sealed and a computer stamped check (ya think it took their computer 4 months to print that puppy?) today...and it was ten bucks short.

After calling, getting hung up on, calling back, waiting again a long time to speak with someone, the woman informed me that on October 17, someone had deducted 10 bucks from the amount owed (the past 4 freaking months) because I was erroneously given a credit I didn't warrant. IF that were the case, why the heck did it take their computers almost 5 months to "correct" it in their favor?

There was nothing but a smirk in the customer "service" rep's voice when they told me they (now sing it along with me, kids) "I do apologize for that sir, but there isn't anything I can do for." Don't ya just want to bitch slap those clowns?

STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT TV. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. YES, IT HAPPENED TO ME, IT HAPPENED TO ALL THE 20,000 PLUS PEOPLE YOU'LL FIND BITCHING ABOUT DIRECT TV ON GOOGLE.

You HAVE been warned.

Direct TV fraud
Mr. Chase Carey, (Direct TV)

I was charged for service for 14 months you never provided at all at 9833 Oroville Quincy Highway, Berry Creek , Ca. Even after calling you several times, and writing you letters, my American Express Card got billed again TODAY. I sent a letter last month and you ignored it. If I do not receive my money back in 5 days, I will file suit.

Damage to air conditon unit
I had to call in a repair man for my air condition unit where a hole was knocked in it from installers from Direct TV all of my freon leaked out and he charged for repairing $270.30 and when he called today he said i didn't have any proof they done the damage, they were the only people that was behind my unit, and put electrical tape on the hole insted of telling me about it, now hes trying to tell me that how do i know that someone else hadn't done it like a neighbor,but the way I took it same as saying how does he not know that i didn't do it my self , I sent in my damage claim with my statement and photos on 8-16-07 I got the run around every time i called about it, and then i talk to someone and they acted like i had never sent in one before so i sent the original claim copy plus the knew one on 10-02-07. And they also charged me a early termination fee for discontinuing my service with them. I would never have service with them again and i advise know oe else to going by all the complaints I have read on internet.

Direct TV, if you were a man, I’d punch you in the nose!
I've been a Direct TV customer for about 3 months now and it’s been about 3 months too long. First of all, I wish I had read all of these complaints before signing up, because they're all true. It all started wrong for the get go. The installers made a mess, drilling holes into walls, leaving the debris for me to clean up. That, I let go. Next I received a call from my association saying that I need to move my satellite from open view. Ok, here's where it really started. I called three different times, only to be transferred over and over again, then while on hold, be disconnected. So frustrating!!! Then, I finally talked to a rep that seemed to know what she was doing. She sent a service provider over a week later, who had no idea that I needed my dish relocated on the roof and if I wanted them to move it, there would be a $99.00 fee. No way I said, not after the horrible customer service I received. So I was told to call Direct TV back and that they would take care of me. Nope! After the same song and dance of being transferred and disconnected, not one representative seemed to care about the poor customer service I had previously received and reaffirmed the $99.00 fee would be charged for dish relocation. I told them “fine! I want to cancel my service.” Here comes the early termination fee. Beware; if you purchase the “dv-r service,” your contract will go from one year to two years automatically!! Cancellation fee is OVER $200.00!!!! I wanted to throw my phone through the wall. So frustrating. I haven’t cancelled my service or paid a bill since. I thought Direct TV had won an award for great customer service? I wonder how much they paid for that one? This is a bully corporation and I strongly recommend that you never purchase their lack there of services. Direct TV, if you were a man, I’d punch you in the nose.

Charge for early disconnect
This is in regards to my mothers contract she is 81 years old and early stages of altizmers and did this without me knowing about it and now they want $132.52 because is was canceled she didn't understand how to operate the tv or remote

Horrible service!
I cancelled my contract exactly on the day my contract was due. So I figured I wouldn't have to pay for any cancellation fees, but I was wrong after my cancellation they send me a bill of $10.00 because the Protection Plan didn't go into effect until a month after my contract started, so in other words I canceled to soon for the Protection Plan!!! Okay so I paid this right... now after 2 months of not being a customer of Direct TV they are billing me $92.88 for GET THIS... "2 movies, and 2 ppv events" that were "NEVER SEEN" and to top it off they confirm the fact that they were never seen!!! They are the worst company to deal with!!! Don't ever get Direct TV, plus when there is bad weather you don't even get signal!!! It is dangerous just think... what if there is a horrible storm that you need to be following and you can't because you have no signal!!! I would not recommend DIRECT TV!!!
