NO REFUND
We moved from Missouri to Florida in August of 2010 and had our satellite disconnected. When we arrived in Florida they sent us a bill for $33.16.We had used our credit card to pay them off before we left Mo. They tried to collect it again by using our credit card but the move caused us to max it out so they could not. We paid them and had the credit card company issue a new one so the could not try again.Well they did and the credit card company let then have a months bill $79.86.When we ask for our money back they quit answering our calls and so far have not sent our money back.

Charging Jopli, MO tornado if no remote &/or box is returned.
Pour some salt on that wound, DirectTV - As Joplin victims call Direct TV to cancel their service due to homes completely wiped off the map, they are being told to send in a box or remote control or pay a fine of $500+ to cancel service. DirectTV should be boycotted. Tell their employees to go to these FORMER homes and find their remote controls themselves!!... REPOST to help get DirectTVs attention..

tornado victims
There is a post going on facebook that customers victimized by the joplin tornado who have lost anything from there home, family, and children even are calling to cancel the direct tv. Direct tv is charging them $500 if they dont have the box and remote. I understand to be succesful in a business you got to make money however if it wasnt worth customers you wouldnt have one. There should be an exception made for those individuals who are suffering so much not more stress and problems. Shame on direct tv there is a boycott going on. I will never consider this company. Bless jopin all its people you remain in my prayers!

extremely rude customer service
an spanish accent lady picked up my call extremely rude hanged up on me without even resolving issues with them.
DIRECT TV SUCKS!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE EVEN WORSE!!

Billing amount
I ordered Direct TV in January 2011 based on a brochure I received in the mail which advertised their Choice Xtra package for $34.99 per month.My monthly amount due they just help them selves to on my credit card so it has a nil balance each month. I received my May statement and noticed that I was being charged $65.99 for the package that was advertised for $34.99. When I phoned their customer service they said to me that in the very fine print it was stated that a rebate had to be applied for. When I asked them how I do that they said iuts too late now as this had to be done within 90 days.
As far as I am concerned this is misleading advertising!!!
Please advise what can be done.
I wopuld imagine that if I cancel the service there will probably be more charges as per other e-mails on this web site.

You can't talk to anyone for the first 30mi. on the phone. Wnen you finally get someone on the phone they transfer you all over and still no resolution. They automatically start charging you for free stuff with out contacting you like they said they would. Then you can't get it reversed. Also the $100 they advertise for referrals doesn't happen. "they have no record" How convenient.

Poor service and customer service
I have had Direct TV for 15-16 years now. I am elderly and my elderly husband who is handicap and in a wheelchair was taken advantage of by Direct TV.I put up with the poor signal service for years when there was a storm and all those years with out a complaint. But this year 2011the signal was the worse it's ever been and there would be no storms. In the past I put up with the "searching for satellite signal"flash across the tv screen when there is a storm 50-100 miles away! But this year I would have 10-15 minutes of service and the rest of the days nothing and no storm. Getting them to come out was terrible, they made excuses why they couldn't come out while I'm paying for a service that is not working and renting the box receiver. Finally a tech came out then on another occasion another tech came out. Neither one show ID. The first tech was rude and talked over me while I was explaining the problem and did not do nothing to resolve the problem. The second one came out and asked me what do you want me to do and did nothing like the first one. Then I was lied to about service orders. They told me they were coming out on May 31st in the afternoon But had to the nerve to call me on that day and tell me they weren't coming out . I asked them why they weren't coming out they said there was no service work order for that day. My question is"Why would you call me to tell me you are not coming out if you didn't have a service order already for that day ? I was told on that Monday 30th there was a work order and they were sending a tech out Tuesday 31st .My daughter called Monday night may 30th and was told the same thing. My daughter and I were both told by Direct TV theywould check wiring, the cheap receiver box they gave me, the card, dish and I actually have a history of them installing a defective box and it had to be replaced. I paid for a warranty service on the box where if I call about a problem they are to come out and check to see if there is a problem with the box and service it. They have not once checked to see if the box is defective ! I cancelled my service today may 31st after getting no where with poor customer service and supervisor for 3 hours I told them to pick up their cheap box, defective remote(which I told the supervisor did not work and it had brand new batteries in it )Direct TV refuses to pick up their box. I told them I will not pay a rent charge on this rented cheap box, because you refuse to pick up you property! Buyers Beware do not get Direct TV! I would never have Direct TV again.

Early Termination Fee
I moved into a apartment that didn't allow drilling into the building, so I called to cancel my service and explained to them what was going on. They said that they would charge me for the cancellation fee regardless of whether it simply could not work at my new apartment or not. Horrible customer service, I will tell everyone I know to stay away from Direct TV.

Lied to me/incompetent
I called Direct TV to inquire about TV, Internet, and Phone service to my home. The first question I asked was if it was available to my home. The rep said it was without asking for my address. I insisted that he take my address and verify availability. After putting me on hold for some time, he verified the services were available to my address. I placed an order for a total bundled package. After almost and hour on the phone with him he passed me off to another person to verify my information for a rebate. Only seconds into this process the rep infomed me that the phone and internet services WERE NOT AVAILABLE AT MY ADDRESS!!! I told him to cancel the entire order. He stated that he could not do that because I was now contractually obligated to the tv service even if the other services were not available. I placed another call to customer service and tried to cancel. That rep was intent on re-selling me the tv service and would not stop talking and simply cancel the order. I finally was able to cancel it after spending over an hour and a half on the phone. In the meantime the bastards charged my VISA!!! DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER DOING BUSINESS WITH DIRECT TV. I GUARANTEE YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Charged Bank Account without my consent
I have been a long time customer of this company and since May8th 2011 I have been calling them to pick up the last remaing equipment I have of theirs. I have got nothing but attitudes from customer service and on top of that they have taken the balance ofmy account (which I am not sure I owe since they bill a month in advance)out of my bank account which I did not authorize.I finally got a hold of a supervisor which I refer to Stupidviors and was tokd Fedex Will deliver empty box so I my send the equipment back. Meanwhile I have to dipute to dispute the charges and change ny account numbers so I dont get ripped off for a 2nd time.they have rude customer service reps and they all give you diffent anwsers mean while I collect Disability and get paid once a month the money they took from my account was for my gransons birhday.never again will I deal with company like theirs.I am with a better company that I get more features from for the same amount of money.now I have to dispute and hope I get the money back to get my grandsons present.MAD AS HELL FROM THE 305
