On or about November 17, 2009 I phoned Quest Communications to order transfer of service from one location to the new in Montrose Colorado. During the process I ordered basic cable which was sold by Quest Representitive for $29.99 per month until 2011 as advertised. It was installed on November 30, 2009. Ib December 8, I received a bill for $74.99 for the monthly cable service which I did not order at this rate.
I phoned Quest who referred me back to Direct TV, they hung up on me 5 times, told me I would have to pay an early termination fee, and refused to cancel the account as requested. This recurred for several days. I filed a complaint with the FCC, then called back again to affirm the account had been cancelled, again informing them I would not pay an early termination fee for a product I did not order. The phone company was informed I would agree to keep the $29.99 that was sold to me, but the Direct TV refused.
Again this continued, finally I contacted Office of the President, Larry Hunter, and spoke with Betty, who agreed to place the complaint on the Presidents desk. She advised she was not able to assist with business accounts. I informed her to please present the complaint to Mr. Hunter who is the president of the company, the head of the table so to speak and that he should take responsiblity for his agents refusing to honor agreements when they commission telecommunications companies to sell their product line.
DO NOT BUY DIRECT TV - this is the worst company to do business with.
