Poor EVERYTHING after being a longtime customer
well just got off the phone after spending another 30 min or so being shifted around from hither and yon. Bottom line, nothing was resolved on an issue over a year old and I stil am being told that there are "conditions " that have to be followed when using the protection plan that I pay a monthly fee for. Is there anyone at DTV who can solve this situation for me???? Service used to be excellant, seems growing up did not benefit DTV, it worsened it!!!

Game Lounge
I am paying extra to be able to play the games on game lounge with Directv. Specifically for the game SkipBo.
But the problem I am having is the fact that the other "players" (really Directv computer) don't play the game right. The other "players" always lay down a card the next "player" needs and that player is able to get rid of "his" discard pile within 2-3 turns.
I have no problem loosing a game when it is played right but when I loose almost each and every time for the past 2 weeks there is a problem!
Also the leaderboard seems to have the same winners each month. And I have sent email after email to the game lounge but not one person has replied back to me.
I am not pay the extra money to loose all the time. The computer needs to be fixed and I need to be given a chance to win!
Also I had about 40, 000 tokens but because when I signed in a couple weeks ago I had 20, 000 points! That is not right and it is not how you run a business. I want someone ...A LIVE PERSON to contact me I am sick of not getting any answers!

They will debit your account without prior permission
Not only does Directv offer terrible customer service, They will debit your account without prior permission. They won't even tell you first. Then they claim it's in their service agreement and it's legal.Well if thats true why doesn't every business adopt this unethical practice. If you're late on your electric bill why don't they just look back at your last payment method, then debit your account, or phone company, cable, ETC.The only reason why DTV is in business is because of the NFL Sunday ticket, I think government should get involved and strip the exclussive package, like you would a kid for stealing a candy Bar.

False Advertising
Beware of "FREE" DirecTV receiver. "Free" to them means "leased." When you discontinue your service, they require that you return your "free" receiver. I got a call from DTV saying that I could get a free new DVR receiver, and I asked if I could replace one that I was leasing. "Yes" was the answer. Actually I decided to replace an older receiver that I owned. Now instead of two leased ones and an owned receiver, I have three leased receivers. Great, eh? When I complained, the woman said that "free" to DTV means "no upfront charges." Can you believe that crap??? I'm going with Comcast as soon as they hook up my neighborhood.

Cancellation fees
We had Directv for over 10 yrs. We kept getting adverts for special packages (weekly). Called rep several times. They said only for new customers & suggested we go to AT&T & maybe they could bundle a deal with directv. AT&T gave us best deal with Uverse. We called to cancel & were told we had a new 24 month contract when we pd 99.00 for a dvr box 18 months ago. We were never told of a new contract. now they want another $140. They even raised rates a couple of months back. Said that the contract allowed them to raise rates, just keeps us from leaving. Total rip off & nothing for customer loyalty.

equipment and service
I've had Directv before it was called Directv. I was one of the first 500 people to ordered the satalite system.
I quite Directv for two months and return with them...I made a call to Directv due to a monitor going out.
Directv wanted to charge me a service charge, also informed me i owned 2 monitors. This is new information to me and
of course the broken one is one I own. I reduced my bill from $89.00 to $39.00 a month. The movie channels suck
they show the same movie over and over...My next move is to drop them completly...

FRAUD
I was building a new home and while living in my camper on my property I called DirecTV to request a "BUNDLE" package of cable and stressing INTERNET service because I was buying building supplies, etc. online. I was told they could provide me with this bundle and gave me an installation date. The cable installer came and installed the cable, and I asked him if he would also be responsible for my internet installation. He told me that the "internet" service was not through DirecTV and was provided by AT&T. I was never told this by DirecTV. He then gave me an 800 number to contact AT&T which I contacted the next day to schedule my installation. It was at this time I was told AT&T DID NOT EVEN SERVICE MY AREA, which meant I could not even get the internet. I contacted DirecTV and told them to cancel my service, and was threatened with a $400.00 plus early cancellation fee after 1-2 days of cable service. They said I was breaking the contract, even though they did not even provide me with the service I was promised. I was told they had my debit card number and if I terminated my cable, they would charge my account. "BLACKMAIL" - I did, however, cancel my service because they still cannot offer me internet, and they debited $255.00 from my bank account without my authorization. This is after I wrote 2 letters to DirecTV disputing my agreement that they never fulfilled. Is there anyway we could possibly file a class action lawsuit against DirecTV if we could get enough people (and evidently there are plenty) - they are frauds and I know they are breaking the law. I have never heard of a company being to take funds out of someone's account without their permission. Please respond if you have had similar problems, etc. with this company.

Overcharge and long wait to receive refund
I cancelled my services early with directv. I received a letter saying I owed them $420. I gave them a call on Tuesday March 22, 2009 and talked to a customer service representative. They were trying to charge me for a receiver that I didn't have. I explained the situation to her and she told me that I only owed $180. I said ok and I would like a statement reflecting this and I would make a payment after I recieved the statement. I never received the statement and then on Friday March 27, 2009 they just took $420 out of my checking account which cleaned my checking account out. I had no money for anything. This put me in a financial hardship!! I called them back on Saturday 28 march 2009 and they told me I would have to wait 6 to 8 weeks to get my money back. I have emailed them 3 times and they keep telling me the same thing, 6 to 8 weeks! How can they take more than I owe them out of my account and then I have to suffer for 6 to 8 weeks to get my money back when it was their mistake, not mine. This is ridiculous!!! They can 'TAKE THE MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT' in a minute???? They should 'PUT THE MONEY BACK IN MY ACCOUNT' in a minute???? How can these companies play with your money and life with no repurcussions?

Very bad customer service
When I signed up for service on 6-20-2011, the rep didn't inform me that I needed to send in a death certificate for my deceased grandfather who owed a balance of $54.20. This was not my balance, but it was connected to my name. I received no phone call nor email stating this or that their was a hold on my account. The tech came on 6-21 and spent over 5 hours setting up service when he found out about the hold. Upon calling to see about the hold and taking care of the hold that wasn't mine in the first place, the first rep, Tyran, was rude and showed no compassion for the situation. He, also, kept putting me on mute during the call, which is bad customer service. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, Johnathan #57047, he was ruder than his subordinate and showed no compassion what-so-ever as well. He also stated that their would be no credit issued at all even upon sending in the death certificate since I payed the balance. Even if I didn't pay the balance, it would have been written off anyways, so what is a little credit going to hurt, especially for a company who earned double-digit growths in 2010 and increased your cash flow over fiscal year 2009?! Customer service is at the core of every company and with customer service as such, by two individuals who represent the company and who are the foundation of the company, I rather pay double to another company for QUALITY customer service than to deal with jerks like them.
