Billing
I have been a Directv customer for years. Last year their salesmen called me up and begged me to take some special promotion which gave me all the movie channels and the NFL package. I cancelled the special promotion a few months after that.

Today I noticed a charge on my bill for the NFL package. When I told them I never ordered that they said that not only would they not remove this months charge but I will continue to be charged an extra $50 per month for the remaining 5 payments.

I hate football, and have never watched a game in my life.

Nice little scam they have going there.

rebate for dish buyout
The salesgirl that set up my account promised a 100% buyout of my DISH lease if I would convert to directv, I agreed, since switching to directv I have called them several times including the salesgirl, I have been told several times by the company that if I don't hear from them by such and such a date to call back, and for the salesgirl I haven't heard from her either. just want everyone to know that this supposed buyout salespitch is nothing more than a scam to get people to switch to there product.

cancellation
Hace mas de 2 semanas estamos tratando de cancelar el servicio con directv y no hemos podido. Hemos gastado horas en el telefono y celular siempre nos cuelgan, nos pasan a otros asistentes, otros departamentos, cortan la llamada, nos dejan esperando, nos ofrecen una cantidad de promociones, descuentos, rebajas, etc para que no les cancelemos. En fin ya llevamos 1 mes con otra compania y el 7 de Octubre nos llego el cobro como que nunca hemos cancelado el servicio que ladrones cobrando por lo que cancelamos y ni siquiera estamos usando. Son muy deshonestos, ladrones, de mala voluntad porque no cancelan el servicio y ya, le tienen que dar a uno un MAL rato y segun ellos somos buenos clientes. los vamos a reportar a BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU por todo el tiempo perdido que nos han dado y el stress de estar tratando de cancelar y no lo hacen de esa manera en vez de ganar clientela la pierden porque todas las personas que conozco y usen este servicio les voy a decir todo el mal tiempo que nos han hecho pasar y perder para que se cambian a otras companias. Nunca vamos a dar una buena recomendacion de uds por faltones y deshonestos. Pero para cobrar y mandar el bill no hay llamarlos ni insistirles...

Bad Customer service
Lately I have been trying to keep my Directv account open, but due to my initial problems beyond my control, Directv having my wrong address, and ill advice from a Directv customer service representative, it seems that I have no where else to go.
A few months ago I had my Directv account disconnected due to no payment on my part. After the disconnection I was waiting for a final bill and the box that is normally sent to a customer in order to return the DVR. During the wait time I never received the box, so because of Directv policy the remaining balance on the account and the cost to the DVR were automatically charged to my bank account. Initially I contacted Directv and asked why I was being charged for the DVR because I intended to keep Directv services and just needed to return one of the DVRs. The customer service representative told me that Directv had sent me a box but it had been returned back undeliverable. During the conversation it was discovered that Directv had the wrong address. My address is 705 Lapis and Directv had 705 Latis, thus the mail service was not delivering.
I advised the customer service representative that I intended to reconnect and would send back the DVR once I received the box. I further advised him that I would reconnect my services in about a week due to payday. I asked him how do I go about getting my money refunded for the DVR charge. He advised me that Directv does not refund money and the process to credit the account usually took about 30 days. The representative further said that the quickest way would be to get my money refunded through my bank. So thats what I did.
About a week and a half after talking to the representative I reconnected my Directv services with no problems. When I went to pay for my services this month I noticed that I had a outstanding balance of $259.00. Not knowing what the charges were for I initially gave one partial payment. Upon further looking into my account I realized it was the balance due to the reversal payment done by my bank. Realizing this I paid the amount owed.
Yesterday my services were once again disconnected as it was explained to me Directv will hold all credit card payments for 60 days before processing. The only option I have now is to pay via money gram of western union. And I was advised again to have the bank refund my money in order to make the payment.
I believe this is an unfair act. Initially I was charged unjustly by Directv for a DVR I intended to return but he company had misspelled the address and never sent me the box to return it. Then I was given bad advice by one of your customer service representatives to have the bank refund my money because Directv would only credit my account and not refund money. Any company would see this as a situation that is their fault and remedy the problem fast instead of putting their customers on restrictions due to wrong information or bad advice by one of its representatives. If I would have known that refunding my money would have done this I would have seeked other avenues. By my actions you can see that I’m trying hard to keep my service, but I only feel that Directv is pushing me away to cable. This is an unfair and bad business practice by Directv. Hopefully you can remedy this other than me being put on further restrictions.
I emailed Directv a complaint stating the above. After a few hours I got an email asking me to call them back in order to remedy the problem. When I called them back I was directed to the Directv Manager of the Fraud Department who goes by the name of John. I advised me that the decision was final and that Directv would not reconnect me and would hold my money for 60 days. I once again told him that the decision to get my refund through my bank only came about after one of their representatives advised me to do so. He in so many words told me that they are not responsible for what their customer service representatives say because they do not know policy. He further continued by saying that there is no documentation as to their representative saying that to me. In other words calling me a liar. Throughout the conversation he would continue going back to saying that I was the one trying to hide something and committing fraud by trying to cover up the bank refund by making another payment with a credit card. I told him that no one had told me that I could not make a credit card payment. Of course he went back to calling me a liar and that I was informed when I reconnected. I reminded him that all conversions are recorded and to look up the conversation where the representative only advised me that I will have to set up a automatic payment account, to which I had no problem.
This of corse has been a very bad experience. First the automatic withdrawal to my account that was brought about due to poor communication and wrong information on the Part of Directv. Horrible customer service calling me a lair and involved in committing fraud. I have switched back to cable and never want to have any of my hard earned money to ever go to Directv.

There service Sucks
I ordered from Directv the RV kit that does not work when I call for help they tell me that it was a self install that there is nothing they can do I try and cancel and they put me on hold until I get tired of waiting and hang up.
Sure they gave me a good deal with NFL Ticket but if I can't watch it what good is it.

Fraud
BUYER BEWARE: DIRECTV is submitting print material advertising various promotions. When contact is made to the sales office, the representative sells you a package as per the brochure. Payment is taken from your bank account immediately followed by a confirmation e-mail. The confirmation e-mail confirms a much higher price and the terms and consitions (in fine print) allows them to change the contract as they deem fit. Its unfortunate that a company of this size has to use such unscrupulous sales techniques to secure business. Needless to say, i immediatley cancelled the order.

Overcharging
Charged my account on a recurring College Gameplan for $600, I cancelled it and they stated I had to pay the first $199 payment now they say I have to pay it all. Told me they can simply turn off my service. I have been a customer of theirs at home and have spent over $10, 000 with that account and almost $20, 000 with my business acount, I have never asked them for anything but they want me to pay for something I don't want and they have charge on too my account because I purchased it last year. They state that it showed on the two previous bills that they were going to charge but it was on the 2nd page that had absolutely no billing info and no reason to look on that page and I cancelled it. Cancelling my whole account with them and looking forward to the lawsuit.

Receiver Rip Off
I have been a Directv customer for 12 years, (a loyal customer) according to DT.

Last week I purchased a receiver from a private seller, before I purchased it I called DT and gave them the receiver number and access card number to verify the receiver was owned, it was verified as owned. Then when I activated the receiver I was told on the phone that the receiver was leased and I would have to pay a lease fee and commit to a 2 year contract, then return the receiver to DT after that. This is a receiver I bought used how can they virtually steal this receiver from me and charge me for having it every month.

telling me a channel isn't in my package and it is on the list on the website
I have had direcTV for more the 4 years and have had a channel in my package since day one. Today, again we didn't receive the channel. Called direcTV and talked to tech support (what a joke). They kept telling me that fox sports cincinnati wasn't in my package. It is on there listing for my package, on their website. They told me I had to upgrade my package to get it. NOPE. I told him I wanted to talk to their supervisor. They told me to upgrade and they would give me the sports package free for 3 months. NOPE. I told him to look on your website it is on it for my package. Choice extra. I got hung up on by a supervisor. After that my channel came on. Called them back and told them if that is want you call customer service, I will take my business somewhere else. I am now looking for another provider. SHAME ON YOU DIRECTV FOR TRYING TO CHEAT ME OUT OF WHAT I AM PAYING FOR ALREADY!!! Don't trust directv for anything.

Dispete of Payment Amount
For the lase two or three billing statment I have not receive one. Since the times that i haven't receive one i done had my serive interrupt twice. The last time it was interrupt i was ask to pay the amont that i pad to restore my service.Now the time have came around again and i have not receive a bill. Now my serive once again interrupt, i call customers service about it they told me i had to pay the full amont before they can restore my serive. Now keep in mind i never receive a bill, i ask them about that and they told me that they stop mailing me a bill and start e-mailing my bill. I never told them two e-mail me my bill, i don't check my e-mail for bill. So i told them that i could pay the pass due bill but not the full amont since i didn't get a bill. They didn't mail me a bill but they expect for me to n0 what and when to pay.
