Scam
As a former employee of Discount Mortgage Relief (and major lenders such as Chase and Wells Fargo) I urge you categorically do NOT have Discount Mortgage Relief do your loan modification. They are setup to take your money and to provide as little a service as possible to their "clients". The testimonials they provide are fake as well. The employees are taught to lie and most have no idea what they are talking about, which is why if you get them off their script they are clueless.
If you have tried to contact them after you fork over between $1, 000 and $4, 000 to have them do your loan modification, you have probably noticed it is very difficult. No one there even has voicemail and this is how the management wants it...as DIFFICULT as possible for you to get in touch with them. When you try to call, you will be hung up on, placed on hold in a phone system that moved you in the queue down to #1 in line, then bumps you back up to 30. That's how they want it. They say the phone system is being upgraded, but my clients said they were told that for months. I was even reprimanded for taking ownership and personally getting a processor on the line for a client. I was told to put them back in the phone system, instead of making sure the client got what they needed. They keep every single door locked, even though there is building security, to prevent those who have been cheated out of their money from coming face to face to speak with someone.
The sales people have NO mortgage experience and are reading 100% off of script the corrupt owner "John Common" put together.
If you want to get a loan modification done, call a REAL LAW FIRM. A good resource is findlaw.com. You should trust your home to people who know what they are doing and really care, not the sleezeball "legal team" at Mortgage Relief. For the record, I know of no attorneys who actually work there. And I would never recommend this company to anyone.
But, don't take my word for it. It's YOUR home on the line. This company, like "John's" other failed companies will probably not be around long enough for you to see a loan modification completed or get your money back.

Loan Modification
I was the one who opened the investigation with the BBB on Discount Mortgage Relief back in August. Now when I look them up, I now find 20 complaints since then (unfortunately I can not read the complaints, but assuming they are all relating to the same thing - illegit promises, TERRIBLE customer service, and unethical practices. I gave them all my information in MAY 2009 that they requested for a loan modification and stupid me, paid them, but hounded them for a signed contract and written statement of a refund from the credit card company in the event they did not produce services as stated. If I did not HOUND them about this, I doubt I would have ever seen any contract. Months went by and I didn't hear from anyone so I started to call and bug them continuously and jarted down extensions, names, etc. of anyone I could get in touch with as I continuously was disconnected and seemed impossible to get in touch with anyone. Finally I had to practically threaten them to get them to produce and finally a new woman hired began to process my info (after it apparantly sat for more than 6 months). I have to give her credit as she was the only one who made an effort to process anything and call me back to let me know what the heck was going on. Her name was Anna. I'm still going through the process now in Dec. 09 but am still hopeful they will pull through. Also, I recently went to my credit card statement online to make a payment and found that there were fraudulent charges of various things. After calling a few of these companies I found that the charges were made from (you guessed it) Arizona. This is the only company that I have ever done business with in AZ. Someone apparantly stole my CC info from this company as it was the same CC I used when making the payment to them. This company is terrible and I would never use them again nor recommend them. They now have an "F" rating on the BBB website which they CAN'T erase unless they resolve their issues and maybe GET ACCREDITED by the BBB. They have a branch to eleminate credit card debt of who also were hounding me to get in touch with. After going through this do they honestly think I'm going to use their other branch? I think what saved me is my persistance for a contract and backup from the Credit Card company because trust me, I have a lawyer friend that was going to help me for my next step and had I had to take that route, I'll be suing for a lot more than the payment I made to them.

Beware
As a former of Discount Mortgage Relief I can tell you that it is by far the shadiest place I have ever worked. I would not be suprised at all if all of this were true and honestly I believe it. The company Discount Mortgage Relief has now been re named to Wow Mortgage Relief due to all the complaints online and in the BBB. Keep in mind SAME COMPANY.
Its like the movie Boiler Room in here.
Employees are unfairly treated and clients are by far not at the top concern of owners as far as being helped. I have had internal employees verify how hard it is to get a refund even if your money is taken without authorization and or no work is done for you.
I reccomend that you do look for a legal representative if you are in need of a loan mod. But not this one.
I am sure that DMR has indeed actually helped many people. However that is not their main concern.
