This is the biggest scam i have ever encountered in my life, a book that cost me $11.83 has now cost me $201.13, i just now found out that they have been charging my creadit card since 11 -24-09. one big lesson learned for me and my wife, read the REVIEWS. I can not believe in this great nation there could be such a horrible company, i would not even think of working for a company that would do this to people, and then go home to my family and say that i am providing for them by scaming people out of there money. hope this review helps people, if they read them before hand.

I ordered a book from discountbooksale for 6.95 with 5.00 off and free shipping. At the end there was asurvey to take and join a membership club I did not do it but noticed I never got a confirmation of the sale.
I read online about this company doing this to other people, charging them for unknown membership fees.
I called the #866-529-3413 to cancel my bestbrands membership and the lady tried to help me, but after about 12 minutes said there sever was working slowly and could not find my account, to please try back in 1 hour. So Icalled my cc account and I had been charged for the book and the mm fee of 19.95 plus 1.00 also I am disputing it oh by the way they say it is written your contract when you buy your book. Yeah but I want the book not the membership. what a bunch of b@%&(^&$@#@! Take these guys down !! this is what is wrong with a America all are jobs are going oversees to India because of cheap labor.. Corporate world is giong to be our demise.!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!, LISTEN DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!. Do not get lured by their cheap prices like I did. They just want to charge you $19.95/month membership that you are not even asked to join, just because you take advantage of their $5 off your first purchase and then when you place your order they are going to cancel it stating that the item you ordered is out of stock. (even though it does not say that on their website) but of course you still get charged the $19.95/month membership unless you cancel it on time. So my advise to you is.. if you do not want to waste your time and money just spend a little bit more buying from a trusted company cause DISCOUNTBOOKSALE.COM is nothing but a FRAUD.

I ordered a book from Discountbook sales which was cancelled same day because they could not obtain the title. I never signed up for any trial membership because I know these are scams to steal your money. They charged my account for a $1 and I never got any information. I filed a dispute with my bank and four days later they send me a cancellation email. I called them and they claim they sent me a welcome email which ofcourse the customer service person says it probably went to my spam. I check my spam email everyday and don't have a single email from them. I have opened a dispute and i'm reporting them to the BBB and anyone else who will listen. I hate it when companies rip hard working Americans.

This summer I plan to read World Without End. I've already read The Pillars of the Earth, thanks to your book club advice and just loved it. So, on 7/31/09, I went online to order World Without End, used, to save money. Found it on DiscountBooksSale.com. I've pasted below a letter I had to write to this company because of my purchase with them. Note: I am an online merchant myself with a website of over 8, 000 items for 12 years now. My company is http://www.GetSuckered.com a Candy, Cake and Baking supplies website. I have worked really hard to grow my business online, really hard. I would love to be on the show to discuss making it safer to order online so businesses like mine won't be hurt by fraudulent companies!

When I bought a book from you on 7/31/09 for a total of $13.12, you charged me for the book and then another charge of $19.95, which I only found out about today 8/13/09. When I called to see what the extra charge was for, you say I signed up for a membership which allowed you to charge me a separate fee of $19.95. I never saw or agreed to a membership. I have cancelled the membership today and I have also reported this as a fraudulent charge to my card. I never received any emails regarding the membership or the 19.95 charge when I ordered. Today I am looking all over your website for info on the membership, which I was told today on the phone that you planned to charge me $19.95 monthly! I was also told by you that you will not reverse the original charge since it's more than 3 days since 7/31/09! As a merchant on the internet myself for 12 years, I plan to do what I can to make it know that people must beware of your company. I know I did not sign up for a membership. Your company hurts all merchants on the web because you do this to people and then they don't feel safe ordering anything online.

Shame on you!
