In the year of 2007 I began purchasing jewelry from an online auction, Bidz.com. I had intended to use the items to sale at events and at jewelry parties. I was not able to sell the many items and therefore stored them until the health issue that had impacted my life in terms of mobility and depression was a daily event..I am now in recovery and decided to give it another shot…I met and established a business arrangement with a business that had a booth at a local shop mart…
A lady questioned the validity of my inventory, i.e. the jewelry purchased from Bidz.Com and told me it was plated. Now mind you, I had spent 13000.00 plus dollars on these items…I decided that I should see if the lady was correct..I gathered up random items, gold rings, necklaces, and bracelets. I proceeded to my local jeweler and he shocked me when he said “they are all gold plated” now in the advertisement of the Bidz.Com they read, 10/14K gold, genuine gemstones etc ….when bidding, the description of each items reads the metal, the retail value, the quality of the item. All of it is false and they use the mail to ship items…they are committing false advertisement, misrepresentation and ripping off consumers and leaving us to eat the cost.
I have invoices for some items and have printed up complaints and comments from online. I hope you can point me in the right direction. I feel that I should receive a full refund and that this online jewelry auction be shut down.
Please advise me on what I need to do to recoup my losses and to aid in the closure of Bidz.com I am including online reports, some of my invoices, as I don’t have them all: it has been 3 years and I never thought that I was sold junk…In fact what convinced me was in my first order, was diamond earrings and I took them and had my jeweler tell me the worth and they were what was described. The tactic it seems is to live up to what they advertisement and then when the consumers continue to and show some good faith in them, it is then they “STRIKE” and wipe you out. The good thing is everything was charged to credit cards and I have requested those statements.
