Why am I punished for their 4 year old mistake
I tried to claim back for a doctor's bill only to be shortchanged by nearly R400. This was because they made a billing mistake in 2006, allegedly paid me instead of the doctor, and now the remainder of that bill was deducted from my current claim. You would think that in 4 years I could have been informed about it. Furthermore, the allegation that I had been reimbursed (via e-mail) and the actual payment did not correspond. I was not warned about this at all and it was sprung upon me 4YEARS LATER. AN APOLOGY IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I have never been hugely impressed by Discovery and this cements it. If at all possible, I want to change medical aids. Pity my company will not pay their portion for another medical, but right now I am so angry I could not care. I will find a medical aid that is actually competent. What's the point of a movie card and food benefits when your MEDICAL AID cannot administer your MEDICAL BILLS!

Service canceled without notification
There has recently been a major miscomunication between my employer and Discovery, which resulted in my medical aid, and my vitality&keyclub to be canceled due to apparent non-payment. The contributions for the medical aid and for vitality & keyclub, has however been deducted from my salary as per usual.

This error has since been corrected, and my medical aid benifit has been restored, my vitality and keyclub benifits are however still not reactivated, after a month since the original error occured, and 2 weeks since the medical aid benifit has been restored.

I've tried all the comunication chanels availible via phone calls, and the discovery website (e-mails). But the process of reactivating my vitality and keyclub seems to go in circles. I keep on having to explain to the opperators that my contributions HAS been payed in full, and that the cancelation of the services was an error. No action is being taken to restore my services as the response is allways 'my benifits has been terminated due to non-payment'. This is getting rediculous!!! It can't be this diffucult to correct this, as the cause of the error has allready been found to restore my health plan benifit.

Still waiting for order after 3 months
I placed an order for the Your Pregnancy magazine once I registered my pregnancy. With Vitality we are entitled to 3 free copies, and after baby is born we get 3 free Your Baby mags. Problem is, its end of March, Im having my baby on Friday and I still dont have the Pregnancy magazines! I phone to query (for a 2nd time) and was told I would get my first issue in April. Please answer me this though... WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH PREGNANCY MAGAZINES IF IM HAVING THE BABY IN 3 DAYS!!! Discovery is also not prepared to swap the magazines for the Your Baby magazine. When I asked why it took so long, I was put through to 4 different departments and guess what... STILL DONT HAVE AN ANSWER TO THAT ONE. Nobody is taking responsibility for the order never being sent out. Thus far we have been very happy with Discovery, but this has disappointed me, as I was really looking forward to reading magazines that was, I might add, a 'selling point' for us to join Vitality in the first place.

Appalling service from all staff
I would like to inform you of the terrible service that I recieved from the Call centre agents, their supervisors and the manager in the department at Discovery. I have cancelled my Medical aid and requested my savings portion to be paid out into my banking account. The first agent I spoke to was very polite and told me that the funds had been released however my banking account was closed. I was advised to complete a change of bank detail form. I decided to call my bank only to find out the account was still active so I called Discovery back. I spoke to the rudest man, Lebo, who told me with a very appaling attitude that it's my fault because the 5 in my bank details looks like a 6!!! I asked to speak to a higher authority and spoke to the Relationship Manager Charmain Erasmus who gave me the exact same story so I asked for the Manager, Jannie van Niekerk. He was just as rude, he never listened to a word I said, spoke over me the whole time and basically did nothing to resolve the matter. I am still waiting for my cash refund and have never dealt with such incompetent, rude people in my life. When Managers deliver poor service you have to wonder about the staff they manage!!

I have never had a worst experience before
I do not understand why Discovery cannot simply do a simple refund claim. If I am claiming money I paid cash to a service provider, WHY IS DISCOVERY refunding the service provider and not me? Now i must go to the service provider and claim a refund? They CLAIM they paid the service provider, 2months after I claimed for this amount. I have been sent in circles and circles and am now ****** off.
Their systems and the service providers bank account do not show them refunding this amount to the service provider. They SAY I MUST DEAL with the service provider? How am I supposed to claim money Discovery has no proof they paid and the service provider has not received?? Now its MY problem? REALLY?
Every single person I speak to there seems not to hear what I am sayin. First they say Discovery paid the original claim in full. then they claim it was paid on the 1st of March and maybe the system hasnt updated the claim. IF A TRANSACTION DONE ON THE 3rd of March reflects... how can the one one the 1st of March not???
They pay the hospital R22000 odd then go and reverse R26000 odd, then claim the hospital must refund me, when they have already shortpayed the hospital never mind a refund!!!

Ignoring my application of dependent
I submitted my application form to add my daughter to my Mdical aid on 8 December 2009. I received and reference number back to confirm that the email and application was received. I then needed to get her vacinations done and discovered that my daughter was not added to my Medical aid. 3 months later, Nothing has been done about the application form that I sent in! I then called in on 3 March 2010 to follow up and resend my application form and still NOTHING has been done. My daughter still does not exsist on my Medical Aid.

I have spoken to a numerious amount of staff at Discovery Health and no one has bothered to call me to inform me what there delays are and if there are any problems. I have had to call in everyday to follow up on this and still NOTHING has been done.

If anything had to happen to my daughter she would not be covered as Discovery Health can not do their jobs!!!
I think this response and Discovery Health's service is shocking!!!

Carefull, they seem to unilaterally change terms
I found that Discovery Card levies amounts on my account after not receiving staments for a while and six attempts to change address that were simply ignored. Interesting attitude they have now, because they have proof of sending the statements, albeit to the wrong address, I am deemed to have received them. So, in terms of their rule, I can pay money into any account, they will be deemed to have received it? 3 attempts at complaints, none the better due to them refusing to elevate the matter beyond the call centre and just giving pro forma answers. I have several times stated that I have not agreed to such new terms, and if I have, please give me proof. Needless to say, no proof is forthcoming - they try to refer to their unilateral terms on their website, but cannot prove that I ever agreed thereto nor that I was even aware thereof, especially those added after I initially signed the agreement with them. There was no such agreement for such fees between us as are being levied, and it was later unilaterally added to the contract. Duly that will entitle me to unilaterally change the terms as well, or what bush law system are they working on? Carefully check statements!

Unpaid Claims while Hospitalised
My wife was hospitalised which obviously means that all doctors bills must be paid out from the medical scheme, which has not been done. I, ve been battling for a month now to get all the bills sorted out, but no luck yet. i, ve made numerous phone calls (duration of calls 45 to 90 minutes) they keep transferring you to the next department which means you have to explain the whole issue to 5 different people. almost have more reference numbers on my phone than contacts. and guess what?? still not sorted out!!! But when You owe them money they are quick to deduct or phone for payment. This is the worst service I have ever seen in my entire life and this is supposed to be the best medical aid. So if you have any queries dont even waste your time by sending email's or making millions of phone calls, because it wont help. You're simply just wasting your time and money.

Listing on ITC
Hi, Today I recieved a call from ITC saying that I am listed on ITC by Discovery. I called Discovery regarding this query and they explained to me why I was owing R2700. I have no problem with paying the R2700 but I do have a problem regarding the extra cost on the ITC board. I was not contacted regarding this query and I do not understand how, if one does not respond to letters why are they not called. the lady that I spoke to Viloshnee Kisten told me that it was not part of the policy to call clients in June-the policy became active in August. My question to Discovery is in August, why was I not called!? Handing someone over before you have exhausted all contacts is not legal! I would like to be taken off ITC and pay the outstanding R2700. Please may I have this matter resolved with the outmost urgency.

I am horrified at the fact that DH has robbed me my own Money for a membership I never has in the first place
I Aug I decided to Join Discovery Health of which I chose the Coastal Core Benefit. So I became a member. A Colleague also wanted to join DH and she phone to find out about the Coastal Core benefit, only to be told that the benfit is applicable to persons who resides in Coastal Towns!.

Firstly, there is NO mention of this in the Plan summary? Surely on my App form one can see by my address, workhome dialing codes I don't reside in any Coastal Town!. I then wanted to change the benefit originally chosen, only to be told to provide proof that I don't reside in any Coastal town!

This was abit much so I decided to cancel the membership with immediate effect on the 071009. I though this was BAD service already!. My membership start date was the 011009 and on the 021109 DH has debited my bank account for R691.00 for a membership that I never had!

How can I be sold the wrong plan and not even being a member for 6 days be held liable for a membership for Oct! What benefit did I receive!!? NOTHING! I demand that I am refunded the amount of R 691.00 immediately!

I am horrified at the fact that DH has robbed me my own Money for a membership I never has in the first place!
