Today I had a Dish Supervisor tell me that even though we upgraded to the Dish 120 package that we lost the Hallmark Channel which our family watches alot. We would never have upgraded if their trained customer support people would have said, "Sir, you need to know that if you upgrade to the 120 package from the Family package that you will lose certain channels." At least if they would have told me that I would have been able to ask smart questions like: What channels would I lose or would I lose the Hallmark Channel or Fox News?
But instead I assumed that by "Upgrading" that I would basically append to what we already had. That seems to be reasonable to assume. However this was not the case and I asked to be put back on the original plan in which they told me they could not because it no longer exists. Once again we got screwed.
My adivce to you is to drop your Dish and Direct TV when your contract comes to an end and get the Net Flix box for $65 and pay the $9/mo for their service. It is so much better and you can pick what you want. As it is now we will be able to drop our contract in April of 2011 when it ends. We will have two things to celebrate then...the end of our enslavement to Taxes on the 15th of April and the end of our corporate contract with Dish.
