Price Increase
I signed up for Dish Network 120 channels in November 15, 2010 and was guaranteed a rate for 12 months. I was given free HBO/Showtime for three months - as a "bonus". I called in to cancel that free service today only to be notified that my bill will go UP $5.00 per month. It was explained that it was an increase thru MY provider and they had no choice but to pass on the increase to me. In researching, I found that they had planned this increase for over a year, but when I signed up the sales rep did NOT advise me of the increase - which amounted to a 21% increase per month. I finally asked to speak to a manager and argued my case. She agreed to leave my bill as is for 12 months, but that in exchange for it, I would forfit getting the added Starz channel which they were giving customers "free" for a year and agreed to take this "free" feature off instead of giving me a $5 per month increase in my bill. So in essence having Starz free was actually going to cost me $5/month. I am very upset with the misrepresentation of their "guaranteed" 12 month charge!

$300 Rip Off
After being a "Loyal Customer" for over 10+ yrs we found out how much Loyalty there was. We had to cancel for a short time due to budget but as soon as we could we restarted their service. We "Upgraded" to a DVR. Well since day 2 of receiving this great item it didn't work right. After having Dish techs come out 4 times to try to fix the problem, 3 times of calling Tech support, and a lot of headaches, they finally saw that the receiver was under warranty. "That's great", was my reaction. About 7 days later we receive the new DVR and all is good...for 2 months. I look in my email to check the status of the next bill and there is a $300 charge added to the bill. Immediately I got on the phone and called Dish Network to see what was going on. They informed me that the old receiver has a "Bug Infestation" and was not covered by the warranty. We informed the associate that we had NEVER had a bug problem and that there was NO WAY there was a infestation in this DVR that NEVER worked right in the first place. After over an hour of arguing about it I informed them to send me the old receiver back so I could see this "Infestation" myself. Their response was, "Well there is no way we can do that because it has probably already been stripped out and sent off for repair parts for other receivers, How ever we might be able to get pictures of what our techs found". Like we can all trust THEIR picts!!! Now how can they charge $300 for something they cannot PROVE!!! They never sent anything to us letting us know what the problem was with the old one and gave the option to send it back since after all we PAID FOR IT. Also if they were being honest and found all these bugs then WHY ARE THEY PUTTING THOSE PARTS (that we are being charged for) into OTHER DVRS that are going to OTHER USERS ???? At first they said it was thrown away then changed it to being "PARTED OUT FOR OTHER DVRS". PLEASE, PLEASE BEWARE------ DISH SMILES ONLY UNTIL YOU SIGN THE DOTTED LINE !!! THEN THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF EVERY TIME;; VASELINE NOT INCLUDED----unless you pay extra for THAT TOO!!!

Increase charge with no notification
My regular billing rate was $32, 00 (incl taxes) but I noticed that Dish had debited my card for $49.19. This was an increase of 53% which I had not planned on. I am going to making my card restricted on the amount that they may charge. Please note that no notification was given to alert me to the increase. Dish has steadily increased my rate from $19.99 to the present.

Disrespected By Manager
I just bought my first HD tv and was excited to come home and call Dish to upgrade my DVR service. I was told that I had to pay 500. I was told that I have to actually BUY the receiver, not just lease like I currently do. I asked if there were any other options as I was already planning to cancel my account due to previous customer service experiences that SUCKED. The CSR was uninformed and I asked to speak to his manager. His manager was rude and disrespectful. He even went as far as to call me delusional and asked me what I was smoking. I could NOT believe what I had heard. I asked if our call was being recorded and he let me know that he was making his own notes about our call in the system. I asked if this was going to become a he said/she said and he responded OF COURSE! I was dumbfounded. He would not give me his supervisors name and proceeded to end the call.
I immediately called to report the situation and was told that he had access to delete our recorded call, however, that there would still be a record available to be reviewed. Hopefully that is correct as the issue was supposed to have been escalated to the Executive Resolutions Team. I was told that I can call to follow up in the morning.
I will post again IF there is a resolution but I'm not holding my breath.
I HATE DISH NETWORK CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

house call
we have a bedroom we have tried to get service to we bought a box and pay $10.00 more a month for service we have yet to recive he have called the tech line for help mulipul times yet they could never figure it out so then they told us we needed someone to come out to our house this is when the real trouble begain at first the said he would be at the house sometime between 8 am an 12pm well this guy never showed we tried callin repetedly and they had lied about everything frist they said they tried calling when i asked for the number they called they read back a number i have never had even thought they called me the day before remind me of the service call because of this i am cancelling my dish netwrok service and encourge others to do so as well

daily phone calls
Have no address to mail payment to these people. I do not want to talk to them on the phone as I feel they are insipid, they raise my already high blood and anger me to the point of yelling at them.

Working for them
They are breaking OSHA laws by making techs work in to cold of weather, wind over 40 miles an hour on ladders in, thunder storms. Plus making them work 10 to 14 hours then drive back to the shop and get 3 to 4 hours of sleep and told to come back in or get fired. Dish Network says they push safety, but really as long as the customers sees a face they don't care about peoples safety. Well i could go on on but OSHA needs to look into dish network safety.

Dish Network is nothing but to suck money out of consumers in the name of prviding entertainment, Their prices keep going up arbitrarily and if you call them, they are not willing to listen but keep on repeting their point.I started by monthly plan with 19.99/month and within 6 months, they went up to $44.99-- no increase in package, actually a decrease.

WARNING!!! THERE IS A NON REFUNDABLE $50 CREDIT CHECK FEE FOR INSTALLATION. WARNING #2: They have inexperienced installers who can't seem to work off of existing cables and holes. Not compatible with Direct TV cables. Therefore additional holes and wiring are necessary.
