Liars, Scammers, Thieves
I too had the unfortunate experience of dealing with these thieves. I was tricked into a 2 year contract at 40.00 a month, suddenly my bill is 80.00 a month, I went ahead and paid the thieves and completed my contract, after doing so, I cancelled, they refused to send a box to return the junk recievers that only worked half the time, and the remotes that stopped working, and part of the dish. They then said I had 30 days to return the equipment and a box would be provided, they never did send it. Now their trying to charge me 500.00 for the equipment. I sent the equipment back and paid for it myself and now they say thay never got it when I recieved an emial conformation of them accepting receipt. Im still stuck in this nightmare. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE THIEVES AND DONT BELIEVE THIER LIES. I have direct tv now and now problems at all and it works!!

overpricing
I have contacted Dish Network numerous times asking why NEW customers can get reduced and special rates.
Exisitng customers can get these "specials" only by upgrading existing service at an additional cost.
Emailing customer service at Dish only gets me nowhere. They tell me to check the "specials"
for existing customers. These are not "specials". They cost more than what I'm paying now.
When questioned who I can talk to about the problem, my emails are then ignored.

customer service
I agreed to their on line package for a 12 month commitment with free installation. Over the next year the service kept going out whenever it rained, even slightly. This occured at two different locations. When I called to get assistance on two occasions for this problem I was told to tighten the wires which were already secure. The problem persisted throughout my time with them. When I needed to severe relations with them I was told I had a 24 month commitment and would also have to pay a $99 installation fee on top of early disconnect charges. When I tried to return the receiver I had to place three calls. Twice they sent the cartons to the wrong address. In addition they charged a $15 fee since they do not allow you to physically return the receiver to the local installer. If you do not return the receiver promptly they threaten to charge you for the equipment. If I had not been looking for the cartons to arrive I would not have placed the additional calls and no doubt been charged for the receiver. I warn others not to do business with Dish Network. Do not believe their hype, they will bleed you when their ads tell you how much you'll save. Just say 'NO" to Dish Network.

scam
We scammed by dish contractor. We met dish contractor on Clark County Fair and they use promotion free mini laptop with sign up dishnet work. The dish contractor came to our house to set up on 9/9/10, he said we had to wait 4 to 6 weeks. The mini laptop will ship to us.
We been waitted for 6 weeks still has no mini laptop. So we called them, the guy named Troy said to contact his brother, we called at least 20 times but he always voice mail never call us back either. We contacted dish net work but they said they can't do anything about the laptop because the contractor is a third party.

poor service
I've been dealing tih dish network for about a year now. Within a year's period, I've had at least 6 outages with my satellite cable. This last time that I called in, one of the representatives tell me that they will have to "mail" me another cable box, in which it would take at least 5 days to get to me... I've had WAY too many inconveniences with these people. On top of all of this, I don't feel like a "valued" customer when I have to prepay for a movie or cable services. This is ridiculous. I've never had to go through this with other cable companies.

Stay away
Dish Network confirmed via live chat that there would be no charges for shipping the receivers and satelite module and they would send me the prepaid shipping boxes to do so. I recieved the boxes that were prepaid and sent the equipment to them and about 3 weeks later they send me a bill for 30$ to cover shipping cost. I called them and informed them that I had a print out of the live chat session that shows I would not be charged for any shipping expences and the Dish Network rep on the phone said the live chat rep was incorrect. I informed him that I would keep the live chat record to defend my non-payment position and hung up on him.
Lesson Learned: Never aquire equipment that doesn't belong to you as you will be at the mersy of the owner. Go back to the digital antennas they offer plenty of high definition cost free channels after you install your "own equipment".

False Advertisement
Infinity Dish advertises the following for Dish Network:
“Free Activation ($99 Value)”
“Free up to 6 Room Installation”
“Free HD for Life”
“Free Room 2 Room HD-DVR Upgrade ($6/mo DVR service fee applies)”
We called and asked very specific questions because we have 2 HD televisions. We wanted the “whole house” DVR service as advertised by their competition, and we made it very clear that that is what we wanted or the equivalent. We asked very specifically to verify free activation, if that was for 1 or for both televisions. We asked very specifically to very installation, if that was for 1 or for both televisions. We asked very specifically about the HD-DVR and if the $6 DVR service was total or for each television. We were told that the activiation, installation, and service fee would be for both televisions, with $3/month for the DVR service for 12 months, with the cost going to $7 per DVR per month after one year.
It was a different story when the installers arrived. The installation order was only for one HD DVR and for one standard television. There were 3 separate calls to Dish Network and Infinity Dish. The “best” offer to get what we thought we were already getting was to pay an additional $99 for activation and an additional $17 per month for the 2nd HD DVR. I consider this a serious breach in “truth in advertising”, and I can’t imagine how $17 additional per month translates to “Free HD for life”. I currently pay only $10.95 for HD DVR service with cable, and certainly do not intent to pay more when all of the Dish Network advertising claims state that they save you money over cable television. They are guilty of false advertising, and we were almost pressured into paying more.
Watch out for these people. DO NOT trust Infinity Dish or Dish Network.

Early Cancellation Fee / Faulty installation
I had Dish Network for 2 years, everytime there was a problem they would fix it no hassle until it was time to upgrade. I had a technician come out and he didn't even know how to program the remote controls to the tv's. He relocated the dish and did not install the receivers correctly, so ever since he was out yesterday the tv's keep going out. I contacted dish network and they said they could not get a tech out until the weekend which is 3 days away the contract said next day service. I told them that I wanted out of the contract and they said they could let me out of the contract for the early cancellation charge. Come on it is not my fault that they did not install everything properly and they cannot get a tech out until 3 days later. Comcast can have someone out tomorrow. Do not use dish network it is a big mistake.

channel removal
dish network dropped FX network with no warning . As a paying customer I had no say in the way the it was handled. My attempts to complain about the situation fell on deaf ears. Now I have the hassle of switching satellite companies and I still ended up missing my favorite show, Sons of Anarchy.

Tried to Keep Me From Cancelling Service
Dish Network doesn't fulfill their obligations to customers, while attempting to force people to retain their services. I called in a cancellation order when my two-year commitment was up--they sent me to someone who would "verify" my cancellation. Instead that person started to try to get me to not cancel. When I stopped him he hung up on me an immediately disconnected my service even though I had ten days left on my contract (keeping me from getting any channels and costing me money for breaking my commitment early). I called back and ended up spending over TWO HOURS talking to SIX different people at Dish before my service was returned and they now claim I will be disconnected as I originally requested. During that time they tried to claim that I asked for it to be disconnected immediately (that's what the guy had put in my notes) and another employee tried to pressure me to not cancel, telling me he was "required" to do it. What a terrible company. They raised my rates this year without notifying me--the new charges just popped up on my bill. I called and complained, telling them I would cancel when my two years were up. Then they tried to force me to not cancel. Don't subscribe to Dish!
