We signed up for the Dish Network contract for 24 mos. We made a move and called them to have the one free move to set up our satellite. The tec came out and told my husband he would have to cut a tree down and trim another for the Dish line of sight. My husband suggested that he could install it on his shop 15 ft from the house...the tec said he couldn't do it because he would have to dig a trench to the house. (Lazy) My husband told him he would call him back. At this time I am getting very upset to cut a 40 ft tree down...my husband starts up the tree with his saw and proceeds to cut when the ladder moved and he fell taking all the skin off his arms up to his arm pits. I call a tree trimmer and he finishes the job for $150.00. We call Dish again to send a tec out and a different one comes out and says "the best place for the line of sight for the Dish is on the shop, open a trench put the cable in and hook it to the house...very simple job. I said we just cut down a tree and he said why?? We were so upset over this whole thing so I called Dish Corp and told them I want out of the contract, I don't want their equipment and $150.00 reimbursment for the tree cutter. Plus I told them my husband has injuries from this. Well, basically they said sorry it will cost you $300.00 to get out of the contract and I would have to put in a claim for the tree. I told them it is now going to cost them a lot more because Washington has triple stumpage fee for cutting trees unnecessarily. Still Corp said no getting out of the contract. Well, I had to take my husband to the hospital and he has a broken rib and internal injuries. In all our 70 years I have never came up against a company who has no regard for customers or doesn't even want to work with you in solving problems. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! Something has to be done about a company like this. I know I am going to talk with an attorney Monday.
