We had our Dish Network disconnected to an outstanding bill. I got a bill in the mail for apx 230.00 for services that I did not recieve. I called customer service and they told me that my bill had been adjusted to 122.00 which was correct, and that I would incur a 25.00 reconnect fee. I tried to get the fee waived but was hung up on twice while trying to talk with a supervisor. I called back and the automated system said that I owed 122.00 plus the 25.00 fee. Upon talking with a customer service rep, they then told me that I owed 122.00 plus the reconnect fee, plus a cancellation fee, plus two months of basic service, plus a charge of 1.25 a day for when my service was disconnected, totalling around 245.00. I told her that I would not pay that amount and that the fees were rediculous and I asked her why the reps I talked to before the bill was only 122.00 and she said the charges just hit the account today and they wouldn't have seen that. She told me that it would be 245.00 just to reconnect my service.
I called back the automated system and paid the 122.00 plus the 25.00 reconnect fee. My service was back on within 5 minutes!
Don't get caught up in the lies of customer service, it will cost you... ALOT of money. IF YOU ARE LATE ON YOUR BILL AND HAVE HAD YOUR SERVICE DISCONNECTED USE THE AUTOMATED SERVICE! This will avoid the scamming that customer service is involved in nickle and diming you for no reason.
IN DISH NETWORKS CASE IT IS BETTER TO USE THE AUTOMATED SERVICE THAN TALK TO ONE OF THEIR INCOMPETENT LYING CS REPS!
