Dishonest and lame
First the install was the wrong box, then another box, but non HD-Hey the offer was free HD--yet another box--only some HD--yet another box finally HD but not able to download programming-another trip they install a :Sling Box" Hmmm, , still not working right--so another repairman come out and does something-all seems OK--1st bill I get zapped for $50 install--it was advertised as FREE. Continuous intermittent problems forcing reset after reset-- So today I turn the TV on--and get Complete loss of signal message---OK so again, pull the plug, go thru reset options as per the guy on the DISH Chat--Still nothing--so my only option is a repairman to come out because the equipment is defective--BUT WAIT-its been 6 months and I either have to sign up for service at $72 a year or pay $95 for a repairman--no other options
So...I cancelled my credit card used for DISH-and Dish can go to hell0I will NOT pay them a dime, I will not pay for breaching the contract, and I aint gonna send them the receiver back--I am a pissed American tired of being screwed by big business--considering the repair people live within 5 miles of me0this is a JOKE

AVOID DISH-AND AVOID DIRECTV too--both are rip off masters

Poor Service
Had DISH service for 7 years without any significant problems. Upgraded to HD in December 2010 and had nothing but reception problems since installation. Lose signal even when sunny, and a lot during any rain or a cloudy day. Lose on one set while other set still receives same signal that was lost on other set. Many calls to Customer Service since installation have resulted only with the normal unplug for a while, etc., which we have done many times. a We asked Customer Service to keep a record each time we call and complain for their anticipated review of the recurring problem. Even though we thougth DISH may send a technician out to tweak the DISH, they will not unless I subscribe to a maintenance agreement. I consider DISH has breached the agreement as they have not provided the service which one would expect and anticipated when purchased.

Freezing of programs
In october 2010 I decided to pirchase dish network. After paying the exspensive instalation fees and heating them bad mouth DIRECTV I decided to go throughwith my decision and purchase their service. Problem #1: Dish did not call me to tell me when their person was coming, he jus showed up.
Problem #2: he barely spoke english n we could not understand each other half the time.
Problem #3: He tracked dirt thru my house and did not bother to clean it up.
After the instalation was done I signed my papers and he left. When he pulled oit my deiveway, my channels did not work. I called dish immediatly and they told me to wait at least an hour and restart my dish box. 2 hours later it was not working and now I was told to unplug my box and wait 5 mins then plug it back in. After 5 hoirs it finally worked. That night it froze and I was told its frozen because I didnt have a phone line hooked to it. Every week for the past 6 months it performs something called "integrity" check. Right in the middle of recording a program, it wants to perfprm this and all they could tell me was to pirchase a house phone and hook up a phone line. I dont recommend anyone to purchase dish because this experience bought the worst out of me.

Overworked underpayed
I am an employee of DISH and I have been working there for some time now. Every day its the same crap different diapers type deal they tell us they want #s and quality. Ever since the cost of living went up twice we and I mean all employees in the Texas plant we have not seen a single penny from it. It used to have been a good job before but know it s piece of ***t, they have my doing 5 different things all at once which is supposed to be the job of 5 different people and I only get paid for one.

plain awful
just plain awful from the start, i was tricked into a two year contract, by phone, didnt even know if i likes dish or not, so i was stuck either paying two years or staying.the channels for value were nothing, in order to have a few that i wanted it cost extra.in trying to cancel i was offered discount after discount only to be charged, after dealing with $80 payments for 10 mos, i was finally able, after numerous calls and tranfers to be cancelled at that time im charged $140.00 drafted from my original debit that got me in trouble the first time.and then was told in a sacastic manor that i could be charged through an independant agent more various charges.whatever you do dont order DISH...
